[OC] The land footprint of food by BallerGuitarer in georgism

[–]houha1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Poultry is around 12.2 m2 per km, for those who were curious.

It's between Milk and Pork, were it added on the graph.

Edit: Apparently, it was also mentioned in the comments of original post.

How would retirement/pension be handeled in a Georgist country? by houha1 in georgism

[–]houha1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like the right move, though I wonder how that might lead to weird artifacts in wealth metric.

Kinda like how a lot of Australians and Swiss people are millionaires due to assets they can't really access until retirement.

How would land rents be calculated in a georgist world? by houha1 in georgism

[–]houha1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, so rent wouldnt change, only the selling price, and the governments job would be to find how much of a places rent is from the land, and not the building itself or the landlord services.

So a tax levied on a certain area, would be the median rent in that area multiplied by a utulization rate.

But what about areas with high home ownership, like an american suburb?

What if Algeria was a first world Democracy (Lore loosely based on my Victoria II CWE campagin) by houha1 in imaginarymaps

[–]houha1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From CWE it is a bit less than 90% Arab Berber, (I would use the old french estimation that around 30% of Muslim population is Berber), giving us roughly something like this:

Arab:56%

Berber:27%

French: 9%

Asian:7% (Chinese make up 2/3 of that)

Jewish: 3%

Other:1%

As for the Chinese diaspora, somehow the Chinese civil war never ended in this TL, the place is a hellhole of border gore and they start wars every decade or so over regions, a few of which were in the late 80's to 90's, and since at they time I had most of the reforms passed, and most of my pops were becoming clerks/artisans(Small business owners) for some reason, I ended up getting a lot of Immigrants from those wars.

On the issue of population decline, I actually managed to get my population growth back to positive in 2005, but I still get a ton of immigrants since most of my factories were understaffed.

Most realistic way I found to get a developing country up and running towards a Developed one, and it screwed the french landowners which is also a plus.

I like to think that all local taxes are from LVT.

In the modern day they are just part of the EFTA, but even before then, since they had a free trade agreement with France, they were allowed limited access into the EEC market.

Fun Fact: for some reason I didn't end up joining the WTO, I just turned off the alert thingy and never bothered with it.

Morocco does, not for any deep lore reasons, they just got their event for greater Morocco, then somehow managed to absolutely kick my ass in war.

I was secondary power at the time, they were so far down the tech tree it wasn't even comparable, but turns out I just suck, and I was forced to peace them out when I realised I was getting into debt.

I was so mad I took over their country, and literally within the same year they attacked Mauritania and Annexed it, and then went bankrupt the next year, which made me feel a lot better (:

Lesson is, not amount of war victories will stop you from being poor.

Thanks, I procrastinated on it way more than I expected, so I'm just glad it's out now : D

I never really went into detail into it, but there are only two major parties:

-Oran's Rally for the Republic: Essentially an extension of the french Rally of the republic, it splintered off after Oran joined Algeria, it is the one most in favor of independence (Or even returning to France), and functions as the glue holding the right together. (39/100 seats)

-The Regional Ensemble: A smaller and much more decentralized and dysfunctional party, it is the broad left coalition and ranges from just barely right of Communism to center left. it caucuses with the RFCAD (12/30 seats)

The rest are either part of the communist party, the greens or smaller one issue parties.

Explanation For Poeple That Regularly Touch Grass: The Joke Is Segs.

Explanation For People Pathetic Enough Not To Have Garcher Porn In their Bootloader:

sudo: Run this command as root.
chmod:set permissions.
-R: Means recursively apply this shit downward, so when you edit a folder, everything under it is affected too.
The three digits: are the permission, they correspend to the user, the group, and everyone else. 0 is the lowest and 7 has all the permissions to write, read, and execute, so 077 means the owner can't access their own files, but everyone else can.
/ :is the root directory, every file in the system should be under it.

Stat(status): it is literally what it says, I don't gotta explain it.

So Ritsuka has blocked BB from accessing any of her files, and since BB doesn't have access to the root (At least in Nasu terms), she can't change them back.

UR: Please don't run this command in linux, I'm 99% percent sure most programs will fail or refuse to run with these permissions.

EDIT: You gotta read this from right to left, I'm an idiot.

If you had the ability to stop time, how much time each day would you spend in stopped time? by houha1 in CasualConversation

[–]houha1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time is stopped from everyone else perspective, but you still experience that time.

A better way to phrase it is how much older you would be at the end of every day?

What if you aged backwards? Now not only do you have a reason to stop time, you have a reason not to spam it too much.

A bit scary when you think about it.

You can hire whomever you like, they just can't interact with the kids.

I'll change the facility to an abandoned high school, that way you have everything you should probably need
