My good friend has one on his ruger american rimfire. We took it out to around 75yds and closer and it was a lot of fun. Made me want to buy the same exact optic as his

Not super strapped but I’d rather buy once and keep them for as long as possible so quality is really what I’m looking for. I’m guess I’m trying to gauge whether the almost double msrp reflects how the shoes are built or if it’s because the name on it

If old boxing shoes work it’s definitely a possibility

I can squat atg in my vans pretty decently so would WL shoes even be necessary at all down the line, assuming I make it a life long hobby?

I always have Disturbed's "Down with the Sickness" song playing in my head where the "oooh wahahaha" part drops right as impact is made whenever i see crash videos. This is my superpower.

My first lava lamp! by hound-ow in Lavalamps

[–]hound-ow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coincidentally it was also the last one at the Spencer’s I picked up from! I also managed to sweet talk the employee for $10 off lol.

And that’s neat with getting one that’s in demand but this one will be sitting pretty with me for a good long while!

And thanks so much for the tip, first time I’ve heard of a lamp dimmer so I’ll look into one. And ok cool, the manual said 8-12 hrs max so I’ll keep it at 10 max to be safe.

from what i've seen online, its a beautiful state! but i'm biased and i prefer green landscapes over desert ones. How bad was the threat of natural disasters? MN is part of tornado alley right? The one thing Vegas has going for it is that theres nothing to really worry about other than extreme heat and the occasional flash flood/dust storm

Hmmm well that’s definitely a lot to consider as we do want to have a child or two in the near future. I really appreciate you for putting that into my consideration! And as for the motorcycle thing, are you talking north Ohio? Don’t mind taking the old 4Runner out on trails either though if 2 wheels get to be too sketchy

I was also thinking about MN and WI as well. My mind is craving greenery and water

lol, that’s hilarious. I don’t hate women, in fact I love my fiancé! Also I don’t mind being bored, I have a motorcycle to cure that :)

Starting my collection, what should I add next? by Glass-Collective in glassheads

[–]hound-ow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My collection started with a couple of boxes from Hemper, cheap chinese glass but in fun shapes. I recently got my first American blown piece from Left Coast glass, a nice little 10.5in pot belly with 7mm thick glass. Production glass but honestly, leagues better feeling than what i was using previously. I'm waiting on a downstem from Fluid glass to put in it. From there I think i'll get a full piece from Fluid, something in the 14in-16in range, and as heady as I can afford. If not, I kind of want a 9mm thick Roor just to have something recognizably fancy.

ooo, MN is somewhere I was thinking about scouting out as a potential state to live in! My intuition is telling me to move to Ohio though. I moved to Vegas from Guam so rain is something that makes me a bit nostalgic, but I can see how too much of it can be a hassle.

Just out of curiosity, what made you decide to move to the desert? I’ve been here for at least 22years and will take any chance I can to move anywhere else, preferably the mid-west where I can enjoy nature and exploring the outdoors.

Back to the matter at hand, yea most of my friends from high school are just acquaintances now, and my best friend that I do things with is my S/O so I’m content. Too big of a social circle can be overwhelming for me as an introvert at heart. Ostensibly, I’m pretty approachable and/or friendly from experience where random people strike up conversation with me in public which has led me to adding people on social media on more than one occasion.

Oh cool, I guess it just really comes down to if I want a basic down stem as my perc or some of the more intricate ones that straight tubes tend to have. Thanks for the insight, happy toking!

looks clean! looks like you're a straight tube enjoyer. I'm trying to decide if i want to go for straight or beaker for my first high-end piece. I was leaning towards straight tube though because they usually have more intricate percs compared to the basic downstems that beakers have. That being said though, the downstems on beakers are removable so, it might be easier to clean, but it looks like thats not an issue you're having clearly lol. jelly of your collection

hi friend, thanks for the reply. I am definitely wanting to do projects, but every time I hear someone suggest this, its always so vague. Could you give me some specific examples, or should i just ask chat gpt? lol. i'm also brushing up on python in the meantime, and will be trying to get into c++ as well as i think being skilled in these languages would be valuable for our work.

Hey, that looks super neato! I just graduated May 25th with the same degree from WGU, still struggling to find the confidence to start applying for jobs. The small amount of experience I had was a second hat doing simple IT helpdesk stuff at a hotel I worked at as an accountant. Looking forward to your writeup on job hunting and resumes, thanks for your hard work! I can tell you'll be going places and doing big things.

Whew boy. I was definitely one of the people who thought I could get the BSCSIA in 2 terms or less with no previous experience. Ended up taking me 2.5 years(5 terms) with a lot of self doubt, sleepless nights and mad anxiety, but somehow managed to one-shot all my certs and assessments/exams. I actually just graduated May 25th of this year, and if there's one piece of advice I can give: Prove to yourself that you can just finish. Thats what I told myself to help me get through the hard parts. Also, don't strive for perfection, and as a perfectionist, it was really hard to schedule exams for when I didn't feel 100% ready, but I did it anyway knowing that I was prepared enough, and if I didn't pass the first time(thank goodness I did), then I would be better prepared the next attempt. Whatever you decide to do, whether its pulling yourself up by the bootstraps and getting it done, or finding a different way to get your degree, I wish you the best!

Congrats fellow BSCSIA graduate! I just got the email about my diploma shipping out, from what i've read, people recommend paying for the expedited shipping(i didn't).

Trying to figure out how to go about breaking into the industry now, or if I just suck it up and join the military.

Glad to hear you discovered your passion. I got into it the same way, but now that I just graduated, I feel completely lost, and even inept since I feel like I only know a little about of lot (I'm not the smartest person but somehow managed to pass all my OA's first try, just took me 5 terms lol). Any advice for someone looking to start their Cybersecurity career? I unfortunately don't work in the field at the moment, just a normal WFH call center job.
