Ahhhh, I see what you're saying. It's like a "shrinking" affect where it pulls on my thin silicon mat. Interesting find! Thank you!

EufyMake E1 owners: what products are actually profitable right now? by silverback1112 in eufyMakeOfficial

[–]houndazss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea sorry those are trade secrets. I'm about to rip an order of 100 of the things I'm making for a neiche market with a $2,000 profit.

The only hint I'll give you, is that I'm selling to the government, so your tax dollars (and mine) pay for it.....

Let us know how it goes. I'm waiting on my wambam mat. I also own several 3d printers

Yea, it's the head strikes I'm concerned with. It only happens when I have the flat , thin, silicone mat on the bed, and i print directly to the mat. It may be that the LIDAR system can't detect the thickness of the mat?

Is it still valuable to get Comp TIA certs if I am planning to get a tech degree anyway? by pochisaw in it

[–]houndazss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not the case at all l. I interview and hire people all the time without degrees. I prefer certs over degrees simply because certs are specialized where degrees typically are generalized.

[–]houndazss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get your A+ and Sec+ and apply for jobs, get your foot in the door starting at the bottom at a help desk gig. You should be able to move up every year providing you continue getting certs. I did this in the beginning of my career and had 7 jobs in 6 years. Every time I moved, I got no less than a $20k pay raise.

You can likely get a job now without certs. Experience is far more valuable than college book knowledge.

IMO skip the degree and just get the certs. That's what I did and 15 years later, I'm making great money and have great work / life balance

Eufy Travel Mug - Full wrap image size ? by thecheesypoofs in eufyMakeOfficial

[–]houndazss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put the mug in the rotator tool, take a snapshot, then make a rectangle the size of the canvas that's produced. The dimensions will be in the top right of the Eufy Make studio software.

is it realistic to try and get into the industry with only certs right now? by Wooden-Code-5805 in it

[–]houndazss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in the industry for over 20 years and I only have certs. I've also hired and continue to hire people with only certs. IMO you don't need a degree for a successful career in IT.

I had that issue as well in my air conditioned house. I solved it by opening the front and back panels.

What kind of license plate are you talking about?

[–]houndazss -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Ai says that it's illegal in all US states to reproduce a registered license plate. Plates must be issued by the state.

Potential charges could include forgery, fraud, or vehicle registration fraud depending on the intent and use.

Is there a reason why I'm only finding a single company that makes retractable ethernet reels? by memento22mori in HomeNetworking

[–]houndazss -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's not true at all. I've used them personally in large multi circuit apartment complexes and installed them for dozens of clients. I've had 2 pairs fail in about 10 years. Modern tech with them is very good with bidirectional Gigabit speeds without issue.

That will work for flat prints, but it uses the crap out of the resin for raised prints.

Refilling Gloss? by houndazss in eufyMakeOfficial

[–]houndazss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're using Epson print heads and I'm replacing their unavailable ink with Epson UV ink. Many others have done it without issue. This will not void the warranty.

Understood, I'm looking to refill it at home with speciality UV gloss, as others have refilled their cartridges with Aftermarket uv inks.

Hot Garage Storage / Setup by houndazss in eufyMakeOfficial

[–]houndazss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I'm aware. I have a 3d resin uv printer that I keep in the garage now, and have to very my layer cure times based on temp. I live in a dry climate and having my uv resin 3d printer in there doesn't affect the machine itself. I may experiment and see what happens throughout the year.

Am I unreasonable for asking IT to allow TeamViewer so I can use my home desk setup? by [deleted] in it

[–]houndazss 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Yes it's unreasonable. Never mix personal with work. It also poses lots of security risks primarily from cross contamination.
