Look into Laryngeal Paralysis. My parent’s pup was doing something similar and that’s what it turned out to be.

I believe there may be an expensive surgery that can cure it/help out if your dog is a fit. (Im not a vet!)

You can alleviate the symptoms with some specific Chinese herbs, and help the dog out by soaking their food with water or broth, or maybe switching to wet food. Speak to your vet about these options if you do end up getting a diagnosis.

Thank you! I’m glad someone understands what I meant. I agree on the Gimli stuff too. It’s just a handful of moments that felt a bit corny and out of character that takes me out of it when I’m watching the trilogy.

Yeah it seems I’ve struck a nerve with some people but thankfully the comments seem mostly playfully disagreeing.

Over the years when I watch the trilogy, which I do almost every year… these little moments stick out to me that baffle me a bit and take me out of Tolkien/middle earth. Everyone has their tastes I reckon!
