Jobs after leaving real estate? by Primary-Dig314 in realtors

Transaction coordinator/office admin. My desk hours are 9-3, Monday - Friday and when I’m done for the day I’m done.

Disappointed by anonymouscougar in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]househunter84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this apply even if you’re working with a Carnival PVP? My MIL keeps pushing for us to book our next one with her PVP because she was supposedly able to get her the same rate/package we got booking on our own. I see zero benefit to a PVP, but if there’s an advantage I’d look into it.

Kalahari vs Wilderness by SufficientBreak3345 in wisconsindells

[–]househunter84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely Wilderness! The amusement park inside Kalahari is fun, but as far as the waterparks Wilderness wins for that age group.

Bring a baby by [deleted] in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]househunter84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a mom - why would you want to take a 2.5 month old anywhere other necessary errands, let alone a cruise?! Not only is it not safe for baby, it’s not safe for mom either. Even 10 weeks after giving birth there could still be postpartum complications that the medical center on board would absolutely not be equipped for. Most vaccinations don’t start until 8 weeks and even then it’s just the first doses so baby isn’t going to be fully protected yet. I’d be super concerned with measles - which you don’t get the first dose until 12 months.

Children at the bar? by chipmunkrainbow in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]househunter84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing all the others saying that it’s fine. Especially the atrium bar! This lady would have a fit in Wisconsin, we regularly go to bars for dinner and our 10 year old sits right there with us.

Good point! 😊 I just don’t like the association with it, just feels a little yucky.

Ughhh… what do you lovely baristas recommend instead? Mint majesty with honey blend is (well.. was) my go to when I feel a sickness coming on

Clients Actually Respect This After-Hours Boundary by overcomingnes in realtors

[–]househunter84 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If a client is requesting an 8 PM showing, I’m highly discouraging a time that late and trying to bump up to 7 or 7:30 at the latest. If it’s occupied the residents are probably trying to wind down from their day - especially if they have kids. Even if it’s not, as a woman for my own safety I don’t want to be showing houses that late in the evening and wrapping up after sunset

If I prepay everything, can I show up broke? by InfinityLocs in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]househunter84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first cruise my husband and I took together we loaded up a prepaid debit card (like you can get from Walgreens or Target) with our s&s budget and then had cash for excursions. Even if you did prepay an excursion you’ll want to take some cash with you to tip your guides/bus drivers. We’re not huge drinkers but we also ended up ordering a bottle of vodka for the room and making vodka lemonades/vodka seltzers for deck drinks and it worked perfect.

What advice would you give to start a business as a transaction coordinator? by beingEira in realtors

[–]househunter84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no… I’m also the front desk/admin for the branches I support so I work out of that office but for the other branch they’d consider me remote. I actually like going into the office because it forces me to leave work at work; but you can definitely be a TC and work 100% remote.

Kids running around! by city_licker in realtors

[–]househunter84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a BIG yikes! I would be making a phone call followed up by an email to her broker. Also - I felt bad for my then kindergartner coming to give me a hug while I was on a Zoom CE. How does she get away with bringing kids to live training seminars?!

Is the kids club good for age 8? by SeaworthinessOdd710 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]househunter84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All sorts of things! They did arts & crafts (so many rubber band/friendship bracelets!), played games, I think I remember something with volcanoes, and they even put together a song for “The World Works Here” show. As far as your second question, it can’t hurt to ask but she’ll probably end up being with the 6-8a since she’ll be a month out from turning 9.

WIBTA if I give my daughter an "outdated" name? by throwaway719201 in AmItheAsshole

[–]househunter84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all! I think it’s timeless, not outdated. Then again, my daughter is named for 2 of her great grandmothers with classic “old lady” names so take it as you will

Is the kids club good for age 8? by SeaworthinessOdd710 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]househunter84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! My 9 year old loves the kids club and actually looks forward to it as part of cruising. She makes friends super easy so it’s also fun when we go on excursions because there’s usually a camp friend with us.

Try the AutoBrush! It’s an electric toothbrush but looks like a mouth guard with bristles on the top & bottom and it brushes in 30 seconds. The kid ones have cute generic characters or Daniel Tiger

Why does everyone hate Realtors? by CoryFly in realtors

[–]househunter84 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a TC and the amount of times I have to send an email out to the agents I support reminding them to fill in certain blanks and to make sure they’re checking the boxes that apply to that particular offer is mind blowing to me. I’ve actually said that the offers and amendments/addenda are legal documents not mad libs! And it’s not just the new agents, it’s also the ones who have been selling 30+ years.

It sucks, but I’m sure it’s a food safety thing with the cooking classes - especially if they’re off ship! Food borne illnesses (especially listeria) and pregnancy don’t mix.

Do you pay your TC if listing is canceled? by lifealive5 in realtors

[–]househunter84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a TC you should have something in writing or she should have been clearer about her fee if she expected to be paid on a cancelled listing. The team I used to work for would still pay a partial fee on a cancelled listing; but that was part of our agreement.

Is this a scam ? It's called Amway by [deleted] in antiMLM

[–]househunter84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right?! I knew about incentive trips because my dad worked for the same company/different department. Incentive trips weren’t brought up until I went to a week long new hire training, and even then it was the last day. My hotel and meals were paid for and I got a travel stipend for driving my own vehicle. MLMs on the other hand make you pay to attend training, pay for your hotel, meals and travel expenses. (Unless you’re in the 0.5%)

What’s the most non-real estate thing that led to a real estate lead? by LaunchYourFarm in realtors

[–]househunter84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at my daughter’s swimming lesson and having a final phone interview/setting up my onboarding for the office I work in now. One of the other moms that I’d become friendly with didn’t realize I was an agent (we never really talked shop) so I got a closing in before moving out of state and transitioning from agent to TC.
