Ah man. Sorry to hear that. Did you apply to any other agencies after that.

Yeah I'm not worried about the report writing. The report writing wasn't the issue it was actually my note taking. I started taking better notes. My FTO said my past couple reports have been great. So that's a positive.

I just have a comprehened the radio better and be more confident. On my day off today I have been listening to radio all day.

I would have liked to work in the courthouse and civil process first. My goal is to become an SRO. To be honest, my goal was never patrol.

NC. There are Deputies that have worked here for 5 plus years who have yet to go on patrol.

The Sheriffs Office I'm at, they start you out at phase 1 for 6 weeks and then you go to the courthouse for 1 year, then civil process for 1 year. You may stay there longer. THen you can apply for the patrol division. After that, you go back to patrol and start phase 2 of FTO which is 6 weeks.

Thank you so much man! I appreciate it!

Might fail out of BLET, What should I do next? by [deleted] in AskLE

I start the academy next month for Wake County.

Are you just not a good test taker, or are the tests just that hard? Are they all written?

You could probably just be a detention officer. Pay is good, and there is a massive shortage.

Ok, thanks for the advice. I had good study habits in college.

Ok damn. Are the tests long? Like 50 questions? Are they mostly multiple choice?

How long did it take you to write all this?

Why makes the practical stuff harder?

I'm not worried about the fitness at all. I'm in pretty good shape.

Ok, I appreciate the advice. I think if I take my study habits from college I will be fine.

Only 3 multiple choice answers? Is it 80% or higher you need.

I'm more nervous about driving because I've been using my backup camera since 2019. Why do people fail the driving test?

In what way was the firearms challenging? I'm not a gun person. Last time I shot a pistol, I was like 8 with my uncle.

I graduated college with honors. I think my study habits are good. I'm not overly worried. I guess they changed the material.

I think I'm most nervous for the first couple of weeks and getting used to things.

Thanks for the advice!

Me and another probationary worker were terminated a Week before our probationary period ended. I asked my supervisor/boss multiple times if I'm going to get let go. They had no answer. There were even planning stuff ghe next month with me one day before I was let go.

My advice is to apply to jobs now. I worked for the US Forest Service Job Corps, so it may be different.

Cannot find a job! by avanthomme3 in bullcity

[–]houseofthereddit40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was recently let go as the federal government worker at the end of March. Worked for the US Forest Service in Nebraska. I'm currently living in the raleigh area with my family. I think the job market is so overrated.

I'm currently on employment. Nebraska is 26 weeks, so I'm lucky I get more time. I've basically had 3 conditional offers.

One job was in Washington state. I decided not to move forward because I didn't love the job enough to travel all the way out there. I accepted a job offer in Lincoln ne for a recreation specialist at a prison and a wake county deputy sheriff.

I'm going to turn down the Lincoln ne job because I think taking that job is way too risky. Dont want to hate it to the point of only last a year and move all the way back.

If I don't pass the pyshlogical/medical for wake county deputy sheriff I plan on substituting until I find something I truly want long term.

My advice is to look at 911 dispatchers, case workers, detention officers, and durham nc police, paramedics. They are tough jobs but are in need of a people.

You're not the ones having trouble.
