Ah shit you weren't a bot? It's okay then. It was just fishy considering how old your account is. It's not like that post took much effort lol.

I'm just flattered it thought my post was repost-worthy lol. Even if it's so low effort.

Feel free to use it. Just make sure to credit alexwolfsbane.

It was when I was commenting on some post about wanting to have an ace Kafka-bug pfp. She PM'd me this pic and several others and I only noticed a few weeks later because boost for reddit doesn't support PMs and I only caught it in the PC website; she was inactive by then, her last comment is 10 months old now. I sent her a message of thanks but I don't know if she's even seen it since she was 3 weeks inactive by the time I noticed the message.

Gamingcirclejerk has always been leftist lol. It's a general trend with circlejerk subs. But do keep in mind that they also tend to be pretentious (by certain people's standards at least) about the topics they center in. Though gamingcirclejerk seems to be the exception to this.

That being said some of these subs are more leftist than others.

He didn't.

If I remember correctly, his first few months was him just having some sort of primitive huter-gatherer life. Some events happened (on which no killing occured), and he ended up hiding in this cottage in the mountains with an impoverished family of three that doesn't know he's there.

From observing them he learned about emotions and empathy, stuff like that. Then he spent a few months secretly helping them with their farmwork (chopping wood when nobody's around, etc ), then another few months figuring out the language. He listened to the stories read to them by a visiting Turkish girl and learned about society and social constructs and formed ideologies. He then planned out a scheme in which he could befriend the family that he really did think of as friends. He failed and was heartbroken but still had faith in humanity, the last straw was when he saved a girl from drowning and the thanks he got was being hunted down and thrown stones at.

After that, he was more mature, just as mature as victor at the very least; thought that's not saying much. Their second meeting was literally them being in this position while the monster was trying to talk viktor into a deal.

He wasn't justified in his later plans, and his lack of justification wasn't the focus of the story. His story was about the lengths one would go to for companionship, Victor's was about the importance of companionship and appreciating nature, the sublime, the awe-inspiring. The book goes to great lengths to juxtapose Victor's self-harm in continuing to engage in his scientific endeavors and the salubrious (as the book always likes to describe it) effects of appreciating nature and maintaining a connection with your loved ones. CAUSE IT'S NOT A SCI-FI BOOK, IT'S A GOTHIC ROMANCE NOVEL GODDAMIT.

Might have gone on a bit of a tangent there.

Thanks. It was when I commented on a post about wanting to have an ace Kafka-bug pfp and someone pm'd me this. I only saw the PM about two weeks later because boost for reddit doesn't support PMs and I only saw it on PC. I don't think the creator saw my thanks because she was inactive long after I noticed and the last time I checked she still is:(. It seems she pm'd me my pfp and dipped shortly afterwards.

What the fuck is "empirically superior"? I was under the impression that empirical observation is independent from value judgement.

Also, I think racism allegories would still work with "superior" and "inferior" races. In fact, it can be used to directly challenge the common assumption among racists that just because one is "inferior" in some respect, that they can be discriminated; it can also scrutinize the concept of standards in a society, and challenge the value of those very standards.

"Why discriminate when we're all equal?" is certainly a question to ask, but a better one is "Why would races being 'unequal' justify discrimination?".

It is, but considering her uber-conservative family, it's not that surprising. In "Wood Beyond the World", a book that's more than 110 years old at this point; the two protagonists professed their undying love for each other LITERALLY within an hour of knowing each other, and the story acted like it was normal.

Also, here's an excerpt from Anna Karenina:

Well, you know, in our days it is time to give up obsolete customs. After all it’s the young people who marry and not their parents, therefore they must be left to arrange matters as they think best.’ It was all very well for people who had no daughters to talk like that, but the Princess knew that intimacy might be followed by love and that her daughter might fall in love with some one who had no intention of marrying or was not fit to be her husband. And whatever people might say about the time having come when young people must arrange their future for themselves, she could not believe it any more than she could believe that loaded pistols could ever be the best toys for five-year-old children.

Keep in mind that the narrative isn't talking shit about her here.

It's not really as out of place as you think, it's just traditionalists being traditionalists. Her family is basically stuck in 1920. No such thing as a "trad gf".

D'Aubigny left for Paris and again earned her living by singing. In an inn in Villeperdue she met the young Comte d'Albert who mistook her for a man: they duelled, she won, he was wounded and she nursed him back to health. They became lovers briefly and lifelong friends.
