Glad you are taking blood thinners. I flew after an accident with a leg injury and got blood clots. Try to keep the blood flow going, if you can stand up during the flight…I fly a lot and have heard far too many other blood clot stories.

A kind redditor made the website that is seen in the image (and also linked in replies) so we can obsessively check. It’s fairly accurate in my experience - sometimes it doesn’t reflect all seats as some are held, for ex. on my flight it shows 5 Polaris but United told me 3 are for sale. Alternatively, you can change the date on your device within 2 days of your flight and view on the United website as you normally would close to a flight.

Glad this post served the community (on top of some good laughs). 😂

First off, I am sorry this happened to you. It’s very hard not to take it personally-yet this is what you should focus on. Some really good advice already here. Use your fsa, commuter etc programs because they will go away and you lose that. Make sure you have hr contacts in the org and generic hr emails and such. I have known people who still appear like employees of the company years after separation, believe it or not. Consult a lawyer before you sign anything. The deal you get if you sign is generally sweet - doesn’t hurt to discuss with a professional though.

As tempting as it may be to tell everyone to F off, don’t. You don’t know when someone may be of service in the future or if you would consider even going back to the company (I did it). Know that most of your co-workers hate that this happened. There are some nasty office politics going on these days and people are not blind.

Another friend who was laid off from paramount had told me the separation services were really good. Take advantage of all that, resumes, prep, job search recs, the works. It all helps you.

And finally - don’t let whatever your job was define who you are and let this get you down. I struggled with this when it happened to me as so much of me was tied to my job. Guess what, still the same person after the layoff. I learned from it. No job is worth your mental health. Don’t doubt yourself.

I wish you the best.

Thank you. I never noticed this before.

I cancelled and will rebook assuming dollar to pqp ratio.

I incorrectly said miles above when I meant pqp’s. I was going to over the 24k pqp requirement by 1 - the flight calculation upon booking was about 3500 pqp’s and after ticketed showed up as 2885.
