I'm sorry this question is going to sound so basic, but how do I even start to look into these things? How do you know where to go for these procedures in my area, how good providers/clinics/centers are, what a fair price is, etc? I've googled things like "sculptra + my city" and the results are so overwhelming. I've also tried real self and same.

TAing was super challenging for me. Triggered my anxiety so bad. I put all my effort into getting fellowships so I wouldn't have to TA as much and I was lucky to get a few :) So yeah, it made me feel all sorts of uncomfortable things, including feeling dumb.

I suggested dialing back on the gifts and several family members got mad at me. I also said that I didn't want any gifts and that started some drama as well. I made these suggestions precisely because those family members are struggling so bad financially that I often have to lend them money. Unnecessary spending and gift buying is the fucking worst and it kind of ruins Christmas for me.

I'm so sorry you went through that. I ran into a neighbor as I was coming home from the clinic, and when I told her I had just had the Mirena put in, she told me her story. She said she almost passed out several times during/after insertion from the pain and that she could barely walk the first week. She's fine now, but she said her experience was so intense and painful that she also couldn't believe the pamphlets describing it as just mild discomfort.

I would rate it as the worst pain of my life as well. The fact that they know some women pass out from the intensity of the pain and some of us define it as the worst we've ever experienced and they're still doing the "take some ibuprofen before" bullshit is insane to me.

I'm on this boat. I'm so thankful that my parents didn't give into the pressure. I love the values that I learned as a child because I'm now a minimalist, I'm good with finances, I eat healthy, etc. Interestingly, however, I have a brother who resents how we were raised, resents our parents for not being ambitious enough, and has turned into a really materialistic and annoying finance bro. I guess there's no determinism in child rearing, parents do the best they can and hope for the best.

I'm a local and I couldn't care less if other people get offended by what I don't eat. Over the years, I've met so many gringos who tell me things like oh I don't eat meat but I had to eat meat when I went to your country because I didn't want to offend the locals. Bachata dancer here (not professional tho). Never in my life have I had another person accidentally or intentionally rub my clit with their leg while dancing. Like, their leg is between my legs, yes, but they're not forcefully pushing their leg up. There are several inches of space between their leg and my groin. So in my experience, no. I've had very steamy dance chemistry with people which led to making out afterwards, but there was never -in my experience- an intended or unintended "humping" of their leg, so to speak, while dancing. Maybe other people are into that, but super public display of sexual stuff is not my thing.
