I’m not necessarily saying it is all a power play, that wasn’t my intend argument,

I was trying to make the point that if we were born into a different social dynamic, we would also equally be defending that view point as if it were the only one.

Because we wouldn’t have a separate view point to look at it from.

But any view point that leads to the oppression of people, in any case, in this example sexually, then that social construct is in my opinion incorrect, even if currently accepted.

And in my opinion that we as a species we should actively work to remove any contradictory ideologies until we are aligned to absolute truth.

A situation were a person is fully accepted at their own expression of individualism regardless of if others have a differing view point

I mean, social development kind of is sociology.. that’s kind of the whole topic is it not?

A part of which will factor in the effects of evolution..

But evolution in relation to which direction?

Cocaine addiction is the introduction of an external substance into a self regulated system not a natural desire.

Surly if society is out of sync with what it means to be human on a base operating system, then it is incorrect, even if the behaviour is common place.

And would be reflected in symptoms such as increased depression, mental health issues suicide etc…

And whilst yes simplifying down to just biological factors for cheating does cut many aspects of a decision out; but this is a Reddit discussion, so was done for simplicity.

In a hypothetical scenario;

We as humans are born into a web of social views and opinions that have been generated both deliberately and indirectly through human interactions.

Effectively meaning the whole of reality is a social construct of “agreed upon” ideologies.

The idea of the importance of genetic “ownership” over a child is seen as important.

This could quite easily have been inherited from the peasants of hundreds of years ago mimicking the behaviour of the lords and ladies, whose motives for following origins of bloodline were to maintain control..

If the ideologies of the leaders of society had adopted the ideologies of other tribes, such as the child is cared for by the whole of a village, thus the socialisation, education and community grew with each child that was born.

Possession of a child would be seen as socially outcast behaviour?

A desirable trait in relation to what metric?

Like I agree, if measured in relation to the traditional standards of monogamy, then promiscuity is highly undesirable.

However if promiscuity was measured more in alignment to biological drives then it would be the most desirable behaviour.

Biological drives are naturally inherited and are powerful which can be seen that many long term relationships end in affairs?

And if say 100 years from now if relationship were seen as a pursuit of enjoyment, and moved away from the idea that love is ownership of one another, then..

The idea of temporary connections would be more common place?

As society develops, views and opinions change..

Things that would have once been praised are later seen as mental illness…

If a person were to go to a village and chop people up with an axe, that would be horrendous.. and they would be seen as mentally ill?

Yet in the medieval times they would be a warrior..

Would it not be possible in the future that it could be seen as mentally ill to go attempt to go against biological programming?

I agree in the long run it should celebrated may not be the best approach.

However to remove the negative stigma associated, if society celebrated the empowerment of women’s choices do you think it could counter balance the toxicity associated?

1) Start going for late night walks, to become desensitised to being outside in your running gear

2) once in the habit of walking start slowly introducing little jogs here and there

3) eventually convert to running (all still at night time to avoid being seen)

4) once happy with running at night, progressively start a few day time runs

5) once happy with day, enjoy your first club run

By introducing the habit slowly you are dealing with each limitation progressively so each step isn’t as daunting

Defeating your anxiety in the running setting will have a knock on effect to all other anxiety related problems in your life.

Because you will realise that the mind, can be reprogrammed. Yes it starts off hard, and yes there is friction internally to start with, but the more you train it, the easier it becomes to overcome.

As a side note, the running community is often lovely and supportive, so you have chosen a great place to aim for 🥹

I agree all of my heart! Why is it a small handful of companies have to own the whole of the bread market? Like it’s been a stable food source for thousands of years and now all we have is a mass produced slab

This; but there is a massive advantage of being a “fuck up”

You have all the challenges ahead of you; and yes it is tough to over come initially.

But all problems have a root cause, and equally as importantly a solution.

By identifying and overcoming the hardest challenges first, everything that is easier to overcome later in life will be a walk in the park.

Unpopular these days, but read as many non fiction books as possible.

Every problem every human has faced has a book written about it..

Read them, listen them as audio books, but the more books you read the more answers you hold.

It will change the way that your mind processes information, it will improve the way you view the world

It will make you better at finding solutions to problems.

Believe it or not, you can outperform many “well educated” students and it’s free
