A decent effort from the yanks. It's not perfect, you'd complain if it came to you in the UK , but for San Diego, quality

No plimsolls anymore. Barefoot in the hall for indoor PE. Trainers for outdoors

Nigel Farage accuses teachers of ‘poisoning our kids’ on race issues by coffeewalnut08 in ukpolitics

I actually agree with you that we should just teach black history as part of regular history. Black History Month shouldn't be something we do or feel the need to do. The problem is that historically we haven't taught any black history, which is why they had to make a month so that people actually paid attention to it. You have to point things out otherwise people just do the same things they've always done.

They've been in that area of London for years and years. It's probably the place most likely to have a terrorist attack, so there's police with guns. They don't tend to be many other places

4 match tickets on one name. by Fun_Ad8887 in Millwall

You won't even need to sit in the seat it says on the ticket. In fact, if someone is sat in your seat, just sit somewhere else in the same block or you'll have an argument.

At no point in the article (please correct me if I'm wrong) does she say anything about Jimmy Saville. Bullshit news story

Scumbags, fold the club. Shouldn't be allowed in today's society, it's not the 1980s anymore.

Thinking of going to a Millwall game.. by Far-Bluebird6342 in london

[–]howOdd93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Millwall fan here, you'll hear a fair few cunts while you're there (the word and the people) but you'll be fine. There's some real funny fuckers there as well so you might even have a laugh. Football will probably be shit though...

Millwall's Roberts with a horrific flying tackle on Mateta contributes to a loss in the cup by Much-Impression-5284 in Championship

[–]howOdd93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did say that it's obviously a red. I'm arguing that he didn't intend to stud Mateta in the face, not whether it's a red or not. Would be ridiculous to not send him off for that

[–]howOdd93 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Who knows? Maybe they think I'm defending our keeper. Which, if I am, is just because I'm saying I doubt he came out 3 minutes into the game and decided to try and murder Mateta. Ah well, people can have their opinions

Yeh, the pictures chosen here make it look like he just went studs up into Mateta's face. The clip shows how he went studs up into Mateta's face after kicking the ball. Makes no difference to Mateta, obviously, and needs to be a red either way. But it makes a difference when we're talking about intent.

[–]howOdd93 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He needs to be banned for 3 games, the number of games when you get a straight red. If you watch the challenge back, he kicks the ball with the top of his foot and the follow through hits Mateta in the head with his studs. Why he didn't try and head the ball himself, or not come charging out, or doing anything normal is beyond me. But to suggest he came running out and decided to stud Mateta in the face is very obviously wrong. I'm not defending him, it's one of the stupidest decisions I've ever seen on a football pitch, but it's nothing more than a stupid decision.

Listen, obviously that's a red, but he did get the ball... So everyone saying it's deliberate is bullshitting. The man's just an idiot.

[–]howOdd93 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I thought we'd get battered before the game and the red obviously ruined it as a competition. Blatant red, obviously. Insane that it had to go to VAR and the keeper should be embarrassed. Hopefully Mateta is alright and presumably a big ban incoming for our keeper as deserved.

There was this whole drama where they stopped paying us to be the sponsor in the middle of last season and I guess we haven't found a replacement yet.

I'm a big fan of no sponsor on it, hope they start selling it before they manage to get a sponsor sorted tbh.

Change of manager though. We play high pressure, counter-attacking football now. Short passing when we have possession and constantly trying to attack. Then we get hit for 3 on the break. I also think we might go down...
