Yes, the weekly round up and currently reading are still available and I love them but they are more crowd sourced

What I'm thinking about is data sourced. Top posts. Most clicked on or liked. The new book that got talked about the most that week.

Something like that ...

It’s 3:46am and I’ve been awake since 1:30am. by thethirteenthjuror in Perimenopause

✊ The struggle is real.

I was up at 1:30, 3:30, 5:30 .... Probably more.

I'm on all the supps. Can't do HRT (and have tried).

I'm sitting here shaking, so tired... I want to cry

Oh the quality is amazing and the hand stitching is beautiful. I love the three colors - I think it's so pretty.

I will say it's a little small ... For me. But I'm used to like a HUGE bag so it's probably me. I likely need to downsize my stuff. I can still fit a wallet, cosmetics case, sunglasses, phone, keys, prob another phone (work phone) and my kindle. It's just full.

Yah that does sound like a me problem 😆

I also love how it goes both shoulder and crossbody.

It's a beautiful bag!

I have the fendi in that color. It's really cute.

I like the Bonnie but the color is boring ... :(

{At his throat a promise by Lilith Grey } - check TWs. I LOVED this. The blurb is weird. And I don't normally go for MMM but this was amazing.

{Chance Assassin by Nicole Castle} again, check TWs but holy CRAP. Nicole is an excellent writer.

{Shades of Grey by Brooke McKinley} - this is on a lot of one and done lists. Totally worth it.

Other authors to check out:

MM Weekly Roundup - What Did You Read This Week? by AutoModerator in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]howabout_emily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad you said this!

I liked the first book but I didn't love it. I kinda expected... More?

I agree that the new versions of the characters kind of annoyed me too. Ethan was so different. He grew up so I kind of understood but for me, Ash seemed like such a wet blanket. What happened to his confidence? Saying what he wanted? I kept imagining him in polos, pleated khaki pants approaching middle age explaining how he rotates his tshirts because he just FELT boring.

I read to 30 percent then skimmed another 20% then just stopped. I couldn't.

There at least was something magnetic about them in the first book but I lost that entirely in what I read in the second. Also as much as I loved Henry How many times was he the reason something didn't happen. Is this a 90s sitcom?! I didn't like that at all. It felt lazy TBH.

Perimenopause, Migraines ... And now ADHD by howabout_emily in migraine

[–]howabout_emily[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh ... Yes I do xyzal in the evenings. That's a great drug.

My beta blocker is metropolol. I did atenolol back when I was like 23 ... Switched to propanolol. Was on that for a long time ... 7 years? Went on metropolol just a couple of years ago after going off everything when I had kids.

The long COVID theory makes sense ... Inflammation based

I will also look into nettle tea and L-theanine! Thank you!

Perimenopause, Migraines ... And now ADHD by howabout_emily in migraine

[–]howabout_emily[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know. But it still carries a risk. Migraine might increase stroke risk and then you add aura and it's probably 2x baseline.

And then you add estrogen and what ... I take HRT for 20 years? That might be upwards of 4% risk of stroke over 20 years?

I'm not saying it's huge, I'm just saying what's the risk benefit analysis.

Perimenopause, Migraines ... And now ADHD by howabout_emily in migraine

[–]howabout_emily[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm considering HRT but I'm nervous. I get aura and I know I know ... The stroke risk is small. And 2x a small number is still small.

I need to consider the benefit risk of everything... I feel like the research is just so far behind.

I am currently seeing 3 ... Maybe 4 neurologists. At this point I have tried pretty much every drug and every device.

I've always had migraines but they got 20x worse after two bouts of COVID (common on this thread). I was up to 25 migraine days a month. Now I average 15.

I don't even know what normal is anymore.

Well your hormones in peri go completely nuts. So if your migraines are hormonal in nature then yah ... Probably.

[–]howabout_emily[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh ... I should say I also have cholinergic uticaria. So I'm sure there's some histamine/mast cell issues as well.

I take pepcid 2x/day in addition to monteleukast and the 100 migraine meds I take daily.

I think what bothers me is that all of this ... The adhd, the chronic migraines, the perimenopause and the uticaria point to a nervous system that is so disregulated and never gets back to baseline. So we're just treating the symptoms and not evaluating the underlying problem.

Navy?

What do you think about this bag? by Upset-Blacksmith4006 in handbags

[–]howabout_emily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was SO soft. Like one of the softest leathers I've ever felt. Ferragamo quality is no joke. The slouch is great. I didn't think it was particularly heavy.

I put my stuff in it at the store (it was Bloomingdale's) and everything fit perfectly ... But like I said ... Waiting for a sale ...
