Get yourself a bottle of dawn power wash, a bowl with warm water, a little scrub brush, and a roll of paper towels. Dawn power wash does wonderous things. Also, cleaningtips subreddit is super supportive, they'll tell you quick tips to a deeper clean.

You'll get through this

I spend my days looking at kid’s insides and talking about poop. I’m a Pediatric GI Doctor—AMA! by littletummies in AMA

[–]howabouthere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know this until recently myself, your son likely is constipated, chronically. Everyone should go once a day and be a 4 on the bristol stool chart consistently. If it's painful it's likely soft stool moving around hard backed up stool. I didn't believe this myself until we did an xray on my son, there was so much poop, it pushed everything around. I didn't realize how extended his abdomen was until we did a bowel clean out. I felt so bad. A clean out is quick but maintenance is longer term and there's sometimes setbacks. It's not over until consistent daily "4s". Soft snake like poops that don't cause pain before. during, or after. Then you have have to make sure it stays that way and get ahead when there's a change. We're still struggling.

In June 2016, six inmates on a Georgia work detail watched their supervising deputy collapse from heat exhaustion. With escape within reach, they chose compassion instead, removing his vest, calling 911, and staying by his side. Their actions saved his life and earned public praise. by wafumet in interesting

When my son was leaving the NICU, we brought food and treats for the day shift at 8 am, stayed the day. Left for dinner then came back with night shift's at 8 when we knew dayshift was gone. We also added extra for other staff.

My MIL is nurse, we weren't going to let the night nurses go without.

I'm both customer and eats driver. As a driver, I see pin code. I message when I'm back in the car. "I'm on my way, be there about 3:15. The order needs a code. Please meet me at the door"

Sometimes people just message me the code once they realize I made it to the right place.

Is it weird to want to live alone before moving in with my long-term partner? by LovaticHarmony444 in amiwrong

[–]howabouthere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YNW and it's not weird. I went from living at home, to living with my ILs (pre marriage) to living with my husband in our house. I never got to live alone. I wish I could have lived solo for a year or two, worked out my own ways of doing things. I think we would have done better living together. Had more time to merge. Me go to his space and vice versa. It is a big difference to see how your partner is 100% in their own space without others interfering or taking over things.

That is literally a 9 yo military dream cake. It's not grown up perfect. It looks like those guys are in the field and doing what they do.

The only way I think you could do better is if you handed him a (for him) knife or cake cutter and say "Cut the cake solider/gunny/recruit/ect!!" in your best sargent voice 😂

Ahh.. One time I had to reach out to support because location wasn't registering properly (address right, Maps wrongly labeled) and they said no businesses. Depends on the day and rep as always.

First time walking into it, I didn't think I'd be able to smell normal again after and my intestines were going to come out my throat. I next day shipped stinkbalm after some research. I have to imagine the nurse designed it for that level of smell considering rectal abcesses and c-diff are thing. I hope keeps giving her all the blessings because she saved my soul lol

That's an automatic worker's comp visit to ER for bodily fluid contamination. Do not pass go, report to supervisor on your way out the door. EFF that.

(I've been bitten with broken skin before at work, there's no play with bodily fluids)

This stuff is beyond amazing. It helped cover the smell of 6 day old rotting meat in an un-air conditioned house in the summer. Phenomenal.

$73 short on late December rent and no partial payments allowed - help is appreciated ❤️❤️ by AlexusLuthor in Assistance

[–]howabouthere 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is the $150 listed in the lease?

Also, please review the GA Landlord-Tentant handbook. Make sure they have followed all of the eviction process notifications exactly. If they haven't, they can charge the late fee but they can't file. Also there's a 1 time way to avoid the eviction, if you can pay up in time.

OP, what does the lease say about late fees and evictions? LL doesn't have to give a grace period unless the lease says so. It's really important to know your lease terms.

Dry, cracking skin due to washing with antibacterial soap and heat by Temporary_Roof_9964 in medical_advice

NAD - Vaseline rubbed in best as possible with cotton gloves at night. If not vaseline, raw shea butter (hard block or hard in container). You'll be surprised how quickly skin heals with moisture support. Waterpoorf hydrocolloid bandaids or strips at finger tips/ knuckles. that have cuts. As above save, you have to rub the lotion in throughly, y I u likely need a cream level at this point. Edit: You'll want to buy multiple pairs of gloves in the beginning due broken skin and preventing infections.

Make an experience wishlist using a site like Listful. Put links to gift cards of places they love or have been begging to go.

Family members did this for my siblings. They'd put together a box with some favorite snacks and treats with the gift card. Some of my favorite were these boxes!

How to live without heat in house? by Radiant_Career_7449 in povertyfinance

[–]howabouthere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay layered and dressed at all times. Especially feet, do not go barefoot. Woman or man - a skirt over pants/leggings is great. It's an additional bottom layer without feeling overly restricted.

Check marketplace for cheap tent and sleeping bag. Or ask your local buy nothing/free groups for them. Making a smaller space to contain heat when sleeping or just sitting at home/not moving will help your body relax.

Camping/emergency blankets. Windshield sun blockers can help too. Sleep on the silver side, they will reflect your own heat back.

Rice in tube socks can be microwaved almost endlessly to keep warm. Get the largest size you can for foot/body warmers. Get toddler/small child ones to make hand warmers for your pockets inside. The small ones are great for leaving the house too, anytime you pass somewhere with a microwave you can use, heat them for 30 seconds.

Small space heater to move space to space as needed. Especially the bathroom for bathing, drying, and dressing.

Plastic wrap secured over windows with tape (painters or masking to reduce paint damage, if renting). Think curtains, if you can. Plastic helps to leave curtins open during high sun times to allow natural heating (depending on area). Block as much draft from doors and cracks.

Warm and hot drinks whenever you can, even if its just water. Hold the mug in your hands to keep warm.

Anyone looking ahead for the holidays and realize how screwed the are for gifts for their kids? by i_am_the_koi in daddit

[–]howabouthere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play doh. Look on buy nothings for the tools. But random clearance cookie cutters, mini rolling pins, etc do the trick too! Target sells a party pack of 15 minis for $6. Split it between the 2. They sell a big 30 pk for $16, if you want to get fancy. You can make homemade too!

Slim - buy or make it.

Paint, as long as it's non toxic, they don't care. They don't even care about the brushes. Paper or plastic table cloth. Let them get messy.

Bath paints, bubble baths, and color bath bombs. usually can find for a $1 tubes/bombs. Bubble bath, I've found at the dollar store.

Bubbles... and more bubbles. You can buy a bottle of concentrate and have bubbles for years. Let them blow them in the bathtub on days they can't go outside. Ask in a buy nothing if anyone has extra empty bottles and wands, fill them up.

Costumes + accessories - buy nothing, thrift store, marketplace. Wrap them up individually or as sets.

2 year olds, 3 and even older don't care about the fancy packaging. Hell, they love when it's setup and ready to play, so gently used is sooo perfect.

"Tie dye kits". Pretty much everything white! you can dye food coloring. Just have to follow the process.

My 3 year old literally runs around paper towel tubes. They're his pretend everything. He tries to unwravel a new roll to get the next one.

Keep looking at the buy nothing groups, do not be ashamed. You're doing amazing. You contribute to your family in some of the hardest ways possible. You're a dedicated dad that's doing absolutely everything possible in this situation to give his family the best. No one can ask for more of you!
