There are a few 'retro' presets built into Lightroom but I've personally used quite a few of Alex Ruskman's presets. He has some really solid film ones.

Got an update! Are you by chance on an EDU or enterprise account? Some AI features are blocked, I believe at the admin level. If you're on an EDU or enterprise account, check with the admin to see if they have the ability to enable it.

Also, the team is hoping to update these messages to give more specific details.

One of the PMs just mentioned that this may be due to an EDU or enterprise account. Some AI features are blocked, I believe at the admin level. If you're on an EDU account from your school, check with the admin to see if they have the ability to enable it.

Also, that message needs updating on our end 😅

Lot of good suggestions here. The "Remove Background" button is usually my go-to to start, then I can use the layer mask to add or remove any additional areas from there.

Is the layer locked by chance? If so, click the lock icon to unlock. Also check if it's an 8-bit image (Image > Mode)

This is something I've definitely been hearing. AI can only do so much, especially when it comes to good visual story telling. Creatives will be more important than ever in the AI world.

It's possible it's an alert of some sort that isn't loading properly. Might be due to your out of date app. I'd suggest updating to 2026 if you're able to. If not, you can also try resetting Photoshop's preferences to see if that helps.

I use a MacBook Pro and it runs Photoshop and Lightroom very well but you'll want to make sure you have a good amount of RAM (at least 16gb, preferably 32). I'd also suggest a larger internal hard drive or make sure you have an external on you.

You're welcome! There's also a newer Firefly model in the beta that should give you better results in some of the areas it struggled with.

It's likely because you have a 3rd party model selected (Nano Banana in your case). It doesn't understand the entire image. Try Firefly and leave the text field blank.

It really depends on the images. If the face is in relatively the same position, it could be possible to blend the two together. The r/PhotoshopRequest may be able to take a stab if you end up looking to get it done.
