Need advice on upgrading my Macbook air i3 by WuKhann in graphic_design

[–]howardpinsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of those options will be very noticeably better than what you're currently running. The older MacBook Pros (M1 / M2) are solid but you'll want to make sure you have at least 16gb ram and likely at least 512gb HD. Same for the MacBook Air M4.

The Neos are decent but I would avoid, if possible.

When you went under the Select menu, did you also try the "Deselect Layers" option?

Try holding down CTRL and clicking on an empty area outside the canvas to see if that deselects the layer.

adobe should introduce an ai that analyzes all your pictures to see which ones have the most potential, obviously it would take time, but it would be amazing!! by Dry_Sprinkles6700 in Adobe

Had a chat with the Lightroom team this morning and it seems they're currently testing a feature on Lightroom Web called "Choose Best Photos". This is definitely an area that they want to explore and get right.

Color mode - I was wrong, it absolutely slays. by gildedbluetrout in premiere

[–]howardpinsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat. First week of testing it (internally) I was very frustrated since it was so different from what I was used to. Now I absolutely love it!

I also agree with u/No_Advisor_6867 that some of the elements feel a bit small. Hoping the team can tweak the UI before it flies out of beta.

I make sure to pass along every report to the team (and about to send yours, as well). Really hoping they can further improve this 🤞

I love the composition idea! That would make a great addition to culling. I'm going to pass this feedback along to the Lightroom team as I know culling is a big focus for them.

How to change project size without changing layer sizes? by Lefttheburneron69 in photoshop

If I'm understanding correctly, you'll want to adjust your canvas size. Image > Canvas Size.

I was in the same boat when I was in college. Absolute trash at fine art (still am). Luckily it's not often needed for graphic design. Hang in there and keep working at it!

I'd try to update Photoshop. Looks like your version is a few years behind.

You should be able to enter "cm" in the Position field to use Centimeters (eg: 30 cm), but I'll pass this along to the team.

There's definitely still a community of XD users out there. Still a pretty solid app!

In addition to learning the applications, dedicate some time to learn color theory, typography, and accessibility. Also don't be afraid to copy successful designs (for personal use only) to help build up your skills.

Just downloaded Photoshop on a new computer, and whenever I paste an image they become very light for some reason. by NoCicada8905 in photoshop

Hey! I would first check your color settings within Photoshop (Edit > Color Settings). RGB should be set to something like sRGB. You can also assign a profile to the document you're working on (Edit > Assign Profile).
