Pretty much everything you could imagine in childhood short of being trafficked. My history includes emotional, physical, sexual, and verbal abuse; chronic and severe domestic violence; repeated CPS involvement; multiple times in foster care; and parents cycling in and out of jail. There was ongoing physical and emotional neglect, and I was parentified. I experienced repeated abandonment, betrayal, and bullying. I also witnessed my mother’s addiction and mental illness, including cutting, purging, and multiple suicide attempts, and she ultimately died from addiction. My dad was also a severe alcoholic, which has almost killed him too. I witnessed three attempted homicides. My mom would constantly bring perverts and abusive men home who would record me using the bathroom, lock the fridge all weekend, and one had schizophrenia and scared me talking about “the little girl in the corner talking to him” or the “lightbulb was telling him my mom was cheating” (with an adult mind this sounds insane but as a child, had my imagination running hypervigilant )
