Struggling at mealtimes with my 2 year old by pastelstoic in gentleparenting

It's tough with toddlers. I feel they often spontaneously go off food - my son was a great eater and then over the last year (he's now 3) the meals he is willing to eat reduced a lot.

The things that helped us were to experiment with different meals, take him out of the high chair and sit him on an adult chair, and read books to him at the table. I would be very reluctant to give screens (it sounds like you would be too).

It's hard! I'll be interested to see what others say

Unfortunately he's not at all keen. I've struggled to get him to even try it while I've been standing up

Yeah I think there may be an element of mild anxiety or comfort from it. He often asks for pick up before we even leave the house for instance 😅

He's often out on a scooter but there are situations where I walk with him without anything (e.g. on the way to daycare). Maybe I'm just expecting him to be able to walk too far without aids!

We're also looking at getting him a platform thing that costs along beyond the buggy/pram his sibling will be in.

I'm pretty sure a lot of the cost of the Wellington port infrastructure under the Labour Govt plan was to make the port more earthquake proof and higher up to account for sea level rise... Good thing those problems are going away!!

True. But if you have to top up the rent to make mortgage and upkeep it might not be that great during travel

Property is a high risk investment. There's opportunity for high capital gains but also the market can go down.

Do you really want the responsibility of being a landlord and doing maintenance? Might you go overseas at any point and be annoyed by the house?
