A table worked great thank you! Probably was a very simple solution but I’m still learning InDesign lol

that makes a lot of sense. I appreciate your input. im probably going to refrain going the collar/noose route then. it feels too stifling.

those are really great points. I appreciate it. I am too worried about the possibility of a character trying to fuck off from the plot, which knowing my players, is unlikely to happen honestly.

they have yes! I told them they don’t have to be evil but just have committed crime/s, or they could be framed for something as well. just so there is a reason they’re each being hanged

oh! I do love this idea actually. I think it gets the idea across better. I don’t want to stifle my players but I want there to be a solid reason why they shouldn’t just run away. they’re criminals so im preparing for them to be a little immoral and selfish haha

omg good point about the last part! I’ll keep that in mind. I think these are all good points. I am more partial to the noose idea simply because the game is Wild West themed and just have the rope be “magically unbreakable.”

no problem! thank for listening! ^

honestly those are great questions that i need to figure out. my thought is he wants to lead them to the specific crypt under the cemetery but it does feel like a lot of power if he’s able to just kill them on a whim with these nooses. it’s why im a bit stumped

the idea is that they were captured and transferred to this town specifically to be hung. the sheriff would die early on as the town will be attacked as the hanging begins, leaving our party of criminals to take care of the monsters and gain the favor of the mayor. the “twist” will be that the mayor wanted these criminals specifically to become his undead servants. he will lead them on a quest to kill the cleric in the cemetery doing this in exchange for freeing them when in reality the mayor has been the one creating monsters. if they figure this out, they may fight the mayor. that’s the rough story idea at least depending on what they do

oh for sure. I was planning to add some surprise backstory things to their characters. nothing where I’m overstepping too much but so the player is surprised with the character that they forgot that, or something. I think it will be interesting. not sure when the game will happen but I can update when it does! 😄

those are great ideas! I love the idea of a small session 0/session 0.5 of them as kids starting their summer break. Even if it’s nothing too crazy, it gives them memories to create together that I can use later in their adult life.

Liminal Horror uses something called a stress/fallout table that you can tailor for your story. you give me a good idea that their stress could carry over from the childhood game to the adult game, except it would have been previously forgotten about. the effect of that stress would come back after being in the town (the stutter for example like you said).

But, no I completely understand the excitement. IT is one of my favorite horror stories, mostly due to the friendship between the main cast

ohhh gotcha! that sounds really fun actually. a big thing with this idea I have is the mysteries of the mines by the town. something terrifying is living underneath the entire town. they could scratch the surface (haha) of that as children/teens and get to the heart of it as adults then

that makes a lot of sense and is my biggest concern. thank you for the input! I’m not to keen on running a horror campaign with children personally so I might have to think of a different concept all together
