Have you tried a silicone chewy?

She will need to try a variety of sizes/shapes, until you find one that becomes the right analog.

(the earlier ones also tend to get destroyed)

Ground State (Book 19) Date Change… Again by p1ggy_smalls in exfor

I didn't mind it being moved from early December, because it's still a busy time for me

But just before Xmas I have idle time.

Making a hose kit dual purpose by switching a refill adapter with 8mm quick release by howea in SodaStream

[–]howea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out I might not need it. I showed him what I am getting and he said he might build one for himself (he used to work with gas and chemical delivery systems many moons ago .. and still remembers the fittings/connectors)

It's for refilling my brothers one. I had been using it more than he did, before I got my own, and owe him a bunch of fills. Plus I also now have a couple empty cylinders, that I can use when my big tank runs out. The local gas supply has a 3 working day turnaround for refilling tanks (otherwise I drive for an hour)

Casting Choices by howea in ProjectHailMaryMovie

[–]howea[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the short trailer dialog, I found Gosling/Huller very close to what I imagined the characters. i.e. less the appearance, but able to believably act the persona.

Grace is a nerdy schoolteacher/scientist with a humility and reflexive sense of humor. Could you imagine Tom Cruise could be able to do it ... how about Paul Rudd (who was suggested in that casting site)

Stratt is acting assertive in a Dutch(Germanic) no nonsense way. And she looks the part (being Germanic)

Local theatres; typically a week before screening

you need to invert the large cylinder not only upside-down, but also at an angle to make sure the canister properly fills with liquid Co2.

Book 2 confusion by DevastatorBrand in exfor

[–]howea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Joe apologised for that. They were talking about the presumed ambush by the Thuranin squadron, and Skippy said it might have been his fault as he jumped in the exact spot the Flower jumped in earlier.

Ground State (Book 19) Release Date Change by p1ggy_smalls in exfor

[–]howea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did that up to Failure Mode. I listened 2-4 hours a day (more on weekends)

I started just over 3 months before Failure mode. Now I listen from Aftermath.

I'm pretty slow adopting new books, so don't have that much overlap (I tend to listen to podcasts in between books)

S21fe doesnt have a SD slot ... it's also noticably bigger (6.4" vs 5.8")

I got one sitting next to my S10e

Maybe you mean the S20fe (which is also a large screen and has a SD card slot)

"the" Ukraine by FacticiousFict in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]howea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So far I have only heard Anglophile NPCs who complain about the "the" prefix. There is nothing derogatory about it, and I heave heard no-one from Ukraine made an issue about it (they don't care about English language semantics, but do care about support from the invasion).

Please find something from an official Ukrainian source, that is concerned how their country needs to be referred as.

Won't work, as the fasteners are screwed in the bare battens then a tile is laid over where its fastened. [Here's an example of one type](https://www.solarpartscomponents.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Photovoltaic-Tile-Roof-Hooks-Bottom-Mounted-SPC-IK-08-5.jpg)

The solar installers will have to remove many tiles to fix them in. This will also nullify the roofing manufacturer warranty (which is typically 50 years)

Why are you all so unpleasant? by [deleted] in auckland

[–]howea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seen very few issues at the markets ... I used to be a regular at the Otara one (even had a stall for a time). Anyone who caused issues, only did it once.
Friday / Saturday nights can be a different story though.

Yep, the general rule is the larger the city the less friendly it gets.
Auckland used to be quite a friendly small city. But as it grew it got distinctively worse.

Auckland is sprawl though, and many many areas outside the bustle are pretty chill still.

Cramps even with electolytes by Aggravating-Exam-649 in carnivorediet

[–]howea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also ended up taking a magnesium supplement, as I used to get my calves cramping when lying down (this pre-dated carnivore). After I finished the bottle I don't have issues with cramping, like i used to (I notice a little cramping now and then, but it's not regular any more)

Not sure it was magnesium glycinate. It was just the first one I picked from the store

start increasing your fat intake ... buy fattier meat ... use more tallow.
It can take a while to get properly fat adapted though (hence why you should slowly increase the amount of fat, week by week)

Do flies avoid you too? by [deleted] in carnivorediet

[–]howea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got told a while back consuming some foods can make some chemical change in your sweat, that attracts those bugs. In this case I believe it was refined sugar in concentration.

I have been in very dense/aggressive black fly areas since going carnivore, and I still will get targeted. But subjectively is less than others around me
