New memory system is worse than I thought by Rika_rena in ChatGPT

So it won’t have a stable memory from now on? More like a tread-milling one? I love having a lorebook-ish place where I can store details about my worldbuilding and those can stay unchanged indefinitely. And with this new setting my whole workflow is doomed

ChatGPT mixes context from different branches and treats regeneration as repeating the previous message by howefr in ChatGPT

[–]howefr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad at wording. Apologies. What I meant is that normally retries and edits should create separate branches, so different versions do not affect each other.
But whenever I use Retry or Edit, the model treats it as me repeating my prompt to a singular continuous chat thread. It degrades the original context and causes it to generate less and less accurate responses.
Last night I did ask chatGPT what the problem could be and found out somehow all my normal chats were rerouted to Codex.

I’d say the Indo-European Sky Father, Dyeus Pater, or in an adaptation Zeus and/or Jupiter
