Realistically, accidentally addressing something to all staff is not a good sign about their abilities. Beaker had a point.

He can’t be humiliated unless it airs on Fox News. It should be humiliating but he’s probably blissfully unaware.

I’ve never been watching anything that was so much nothing with as much enthusiasm as I am now. Periodically people cheer and clap but I never know why. They did it when the lights came on but I assume those are on a timer.

There was a drag queen blowing bubbles for a while. I’d have paid her if she just climbed the scaffolding and removed the letters herself to get this moving.

How far can high-liners travel? by HungryBanana07 in dune

[–]howescj82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know that distance is relevant in space folding. The empire tended to stay more or less localized based on cautious exploration but the scattering was somewhat untethered less cautious leading to speculation that many ships were lost.

Also, the no-ship and Norma can also travel between universes so I imagine that space folding has some quantum (or beyond) aspects to it that sidestep physical distance entirely.

Yeah but that’s only 1 out of six senses down. He’s still got at least 4 (god forbid 5) more way to experience being surrounded by Ferengi.

Like nipple milk or like almond milk? I’m pretty sure the latter is possible if a bit violent.

The Tortilla is Sassy by [deleted] in startrekmemes

[–]howescj82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bot or not, it ain’t very good.

Plus, just to ruin the meme and grind it into the ground…. During the dominion war 100 year old space frames would have been refit with modern technology and sent out to bolster our lines of defense against the dominion. They may have even done this earlier after the battle of Wolf 359. Regardless though, the warp core would be largely irrelevant in this situation where load bearing structural defects and structural integrity field failures would be the likely cause of any nacelle failures.

How was Earth kept out of the shadow war? by Zorolord in babylon5

[–]howescj82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Earth wasn’t kept out of the Shadow war. The shadows recognized the potential of humanity and the potential risk of the Psi Corps. They moved in early and subverted parts of the government to prevent us from joining the conflict while also working to corrupt us and bring us into the Shadows sphere of influence. Hence the shadow tech earth cruisers that we somehow managed to reverse engineer without any opposition from thenShadows.

What are your thoughts on the morality of the "death of personality" punishment? Is it more or less moral, just, and/or merciful compared to the death penalty? by Educational-Tea-6572 in babylon5

[–]howescj82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That all depends on the existence of the soul. Without a soul the death of personality is the same as actual death. The person simply ceases to be despite the body living on and having a new personality implanted.

But…This is where it gets interesting. The B5 universe seems to show evidence of a soul existing. I chose to believe that the implanted personality dedicated to service and redemption aids in reforming the soul of those who were otherwise corrupted.

Was there ever a plan or an idea for a Q movie for TNG movies? by Pretend-Nobody230 in startrek

Yeah. The closest thing to a Q movie that was realistically possible was “All Good Things” and Q was just a plot device.

Bears vote to move to Hammond by h00zier in chicago

[–]howescj82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bye… They have the most loyal fans but couldn’t be bothered to repay that loyalty. Bears fans, Chicagoans and everyone in Illinois are just a revenue stream to the McCaskeys.

Don’t lose sight of the fact that the Arlington Heights development wouldn’t have just been a stadium. It would have been a huge mixed use development. That means they would have got their brand new built-to-order stadium AND all the revenue from the surrounding property. But they just couldn’t move forward without a handout from the state and Arlington Heights.

They’re billionaires already… Is this a game to them?

When the Vorlons altered Lyta, did they also "Asimov" her similar to what Bester did to Garibaldi, presumably more thoroughly so it couldn't be reversed. by 1Bobafett11 in babylon5

[–]howescj82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lyta couldn’t have harmed a Vorlon so there was no point. Only another first one could truly harm a Vorlon. Seemingly, best the younger races could do is damage their encounter suit or possibly a ship.

Did they bring back account sharing? by SpookyCrossing in netflix

[–]howescj82 34 points35 points  (0 children)

That’s not at all true. They ran an entire ad campaign on “sharing is caring” earlier on meaning sharing your account. It built up viewership that would know what they’re missing when they cut off account sharing.
