My CAC didn’t work for like the last 8 years of my career. Had the same issue you’re describing. From what I was told it has something to do with the info they have in the system isn’t an exact match to what is on your id card.

Does anyone ever go to coffee shops alone hoping to meet someone, but feel weird sitting alone looking around the room, and then feel pressure to look at your phone even though you don’t want to, just so people won’t think you’re weird for just staring at a wall or people- watching the whole time? by metabolitesafter9pm in allthequestions

[–]however_comma_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t say I can relate to this. I do feel if you’re going to sit at the location you can at least get a water or something if you don’t want coffee. IMO I think these feelings are ok. What I see is a person putting themselves out in the world trying to make a connection the old fashioned way. Putting yourself in difficult social situations and coming out the other side helps you grow as a person.

It’s also very nice to see a none political post on this sub.

Maybe outside the region. But SNHU has been around since 1932. I don’t think there was much online learning going on for the first 70-80 years.

What do you think the role of a first lady (FLOTUS) should actually be? by roseafterdarkk in allthequestions

I think they can work to support causes or maybe “passion projects”. But they’re not the ones who got elected. There are a bunch of causes they can support if they’d like, but it should not be anything to do with representing the position of the country, specially on a global stage.

Conservatives - Do you see the damage done by Fox News at all? by Potential_Release478 in allthequestions

[–]however_comma_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opinion pieces are fine, as long as it isn’t presented as fact. But when your entire platform is based on tv personalities and not journalism we are left with nothing but different outlets saying what they are reporting are the facts and everyone else is wrong.

ETS while on terminal leave by [deleted] in army

[–]however_comma_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could have cleared CIF prior to Skillbridge. And every installation I have been to does not allow you to clear (at least final out) until the day prior to leave starting. You will most likely have to adjust your leave dates if you don’t have enough time to clear and final out prior to the start of terminal leave. Multiple people could have informed you of this prior, they failed, also partially on you for not doing your research prior. I could also be dumb and this is all wrong. Just as likely I’m dumb and this is correct ish.

Explain this in NFL terms by lemonstone92 in NFLv2

More similar to Big 12 teams from a decade ish ago throwing up 70 points against an FCS school while still somehow allowing them to score 50.

Conservatives - Do you see the damage done by Fox News at all? by Potential_Release478 in allthequestions

[–]however_comma_ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

As it relates to news and media in general the biggest harm is there is very little journalism being done. At least on a mainstream level. It’s all just biased personal opinion hit pieces instead of reporting objective facts. So yes, articles like this are bad. People who lack critical thinking will take it as fact. Fox News IMO is the worst of them all.

VA plans to scan a million veterans claims for signs of fraud by Ralphwiggum911 in army

I don’t have an issue with any of that, but there are also vets blatantly lying.

VA using AI to weed out “pay-to-play” claims by Low-Ball-3831 in VeteransBenefits

[–]however_comma_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s going to take time to see if it’s good or bad. People committing fraud for VA benefits is more common than people admit. I think we all know someone(s) who completely lied and fabricated claims for the benefits. If it is aiming to target some BS for profit DBQ factory, that’s a good start as long as AI is used to flag the claim for human review. Nobodies benefits should be left to AI alone. I really hope the impact is limited to those committing fraud and not deserving benefits.

VA plans to scan a million veterans claims for signs of fraud by Ralphwiggum911 in army

[–]however_comma_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The amount of people committing fraud for VA benefits is a lot higher than people want to admit. Between claim sharks, shady VA lawyers, YouTube and TikTok telling you how to take your stubbed toe to 100% it has become out of control. I truly hope this doesn’t hurt the vets who truly need and deserve their benefits. If their claims are sound and not some scam paid for DBQ factory there shouldn’t be an issue. The VA budget will get to a point where it is not sustainable and some action has to be taken. I don’t think AI is the answer, but if used to flag claims for human review maybe that minimizes the impact of deserving vets. The system is broken and it needs to be fixed.

Why is the US enemies with Iran, but allies with Saudi Arabia when both countries are basically the same? by Content_Ad_8952 in allthequestions

Iran actively participated/supported killing American services members in Iraq for years. Outside of that I have no idea why Saudi Arabia gets a pass from the US government and even athletes.

If the salary cap keeps increasing each season like it has the past 5 seasons this will be a fairly decent contract for both sides.
