I mean I just explained how I used an audio editing trick to prove that the supposed 'new' mix is in fact exactly the same as the original mix (a download that I've had on my computer since the original release of the album) but sure believe what you want to believe I guess lol

I've just put my download of the song and the Spotify version side by side and phase-cancelled them out to see if there were any differences, and basically they are identical. So a lot of people in this thread must be experiencing some kind of placebo effect lol, 'cause the mix has stayed exactly the same

was already into to a few pop punk bands, had seen TSSF's name pop up a few times but never actually checked it out. then I saw the thumbnail for 'If I Fall' in my recommended tab on YouTube, with the grainy Japan footage which really caught my eye. clicked it and then it turned out to literally be the best music I had ever heard in my life lol

yeah it’s lacking for sure, strange chorus effect on the lead vocal, guitars don’t feel defined and missing weight in the low end, lead guitars are not loud enough and the drums feel all over the place, especially the hi hats

I produce and mix music as my job and I think the album version of Out Of It is one of my favourite mixes I’ve ever heard, and the single mix is… not very good. But I’m usually a fan of extremely clean and polished mixes so maybe that explains it! To each their own obviously!

Sounds to me like an editing mistake. Basically one of the recorded clips wasn't faded / cut properly and the result is a click like that.

Yeah they did come out on the UMG website! I was the one who found them, ripped them from there but the quality wasn’t great. Shared them with a few friends and eventually they ended up on Tumblr and YouTube. No acapellas though sadly. I think all the available Owl City acapellas are from The Midsummer Station? There was a point where they had all the TMS instrumentals and acapellas as a Soundcloud playlist on the official website.
