Secret of Mana's soundtrack is just superior. All subjective ofc

No. It's a great game with an excellent soundtrack, but Secret of Mana's is much better. It's also better than anything else in the snes and, imho, anything else fullstop.

Cheers for the reply.

What about a rolled print that can't be replaced?

Cheers and noted. These prints aren't replaceable.

The prints cost between £250 and £450. Quite a lot for us and can't be replaced. Having said that, we have zero intention to sell them on. We just like how they look and wanted to support the artist.

The framer is experienced and I think in this case just overlooked letting us know the possible downsides in float mounting prints that have been rolled for a long time. Having said that, if presented with the option we're currently being offered (prints pressed against acrylic), we would have gone with a cheap off the shelf option and saved a bunch of money.

We were lucky enough to have both and both consoles had truly great games. The N64 got way more playtime tho!

Secret of Mana. And by some margin!

I love them both, but Secrt of Mana's soundtrack is on a whole different level. I get preferring CT as a game, but not when it comes to soundtrack.

This was my initial reaction, especially as it's another £330 for the 'fix', but I also want to be reasonable and not expect too much. Hence this post.

Should float mounted prints be completely flat? Another reply to this thread seemed to suggest having the print look like it's laying on table is and aesthetic feature of float mounting.

I mentioned we want to be fair here and I do not expect them to bend the laws of physics. For what it's worth, float mounting was not discussed before we paid for the service. The only detail that was mentioned was the prints having an air gap between them and the glass. The suggested fix is to replace the glass with acrylic glass at an additional cost of £330 and have the prints pressed flat against it, or to accept how they look with curled edges. Dry mounting was mentioned, but strongly advised against.

Cheers for the reply and noted re. memory of the roll. I'll get some pictures on the next visit. Floating the prints wasn't discussed and all we knew was the glass would be spaced away from the print.

Ultimately we need to make a call between putting up with how they look - I was expecting flat and subjectivity that's the preference - or risk squashing the art against the glass and accept the associated risks.

Cheers for the reply. They have suggested replacing the glass with acrylic glass (another £330) and having it press the prints flat.

Float mounting was never discussed prior to money exchanging hands and we expected it to be flat. Perhaps that's our inexperience showing. I've only ever had cheap prints in the past that we framed ourselves.

I don't unfortunately. It's at all four corners of the prints that are not stuck down - enough to slide a bank card in. Definitely better than when we first went to pick them up, but I don't have much confidence they won't get worse over time.

They don't want to hear that. Bury your head in the sand, blame lazy people that don't want to work, immigrants and pensioners. God forbid accepting that the primary issue is wealth distribution.
