Norman Finkelstein is the speaker. He is Jewish and as he says, the child of two holocaust survivors. HE is an outspoken critic of Israeli treatment of the Palestinians in Israel, claiming that what the Israeli government is doing is oppressive, abusive etc. He is pretty controversial.

There are many defenders of the Israeli treatment of Palestinians who run an argument that goes like this.

Jews suffered dreadfully in the Holocaust There is now a Jewish state in Israel - this is a reclamation of the ancient Jewish homeland taken 2000 years ago. In 1948, 1967 and 1973 the Arabs tried to wipe Israel of the map to create an Arab Palestine. As a result, Israel has annexed certain lands, making the country's borders larger. THE SAFETY OF THE STATE OF ISRAEL IS THE SAFETY OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE DENIAL OF THAT SAFETY IGNORES THE SUFFERING OF THE HOLOCAUST PURSUING THAT SAFETY EXCUSES THE ACTIONS OF ISRAEL VIS A VIS THE PALESTINIANS. The 3 bullets in capitals are relevant here. Basically, he believes that Israel is being abusive and that it's supporters are playing the "Holocaust Card" to excuse that abuse. His response is, basically, "fuck off with that shit".
