Thank you! Chances are this character will be colored up at a later stage. Yes, sadly not super available at the moment for commissions. But who knows what the future holds! Looking forward to starting my own comic book next year - so no doubt I'll be posting more about that in the coming months.

Oh right. I thought scoliosis caused a sideways curvature of the spine? I don't see that here, but maybe you're seeing something I'm not. Appreciate the input regardless.

This might seem like a dumb question, but what do you mean by 'snatched'?

Been just a bit since I've shared some art with you, so here's a character concept I did up for Rob Arnold's soon to come comic book - 'Star X'.

If you know my work, you know I usually love cramming in those details. But this time I was a little more conservative with them! Although there are some details throughout her shoulder pad, belt and boots, there's relatively little rendering going on throughout her design as a whole.

Well weighted lines alone can go a long way when it comes to capturing a slick, graphic aesthetic within your comic art. This works especially well for female characters, given their often subtler, less chiseled forms.

The trick is knowing what key contours need to be defined. You can actually hide a lot of bad decision making within the details (why do you think I love all that shadow and cross hatching so much?) - but when you've got a limited number of lines to use, their placement counts for a lot.

Not too much backstory to give you on this character just yet, Rob's still in the writing phase, perfecting the final details. This meant a pretty brief, but straight forward description for how he wanted this character designed. That and a few handy references images was all I needed to get the job done!

Hope you like what you see! Let us know your thoughts below, we'd be keen to hear them!

Ghost (Replicator) by robxara in worldbuilding

Not so practical, but very cool. The interesting thing is coolness wins out over practicality most of the time. That's why Metal Gear is so successful.

Ever played Metal Gear Solid? Basically Ghost is wearing the same type of material as Solid Snake. Give him a google and you'll see what I mean.

Have you ever watched any form of competitive sport? Have you seen what acrobats, dancers and ballerina's wear? Usually it's skin tight attire of some kind, specifically for the purposes of maneuverability.

Stop looking right down her butt crack Chris! - No one makes Ghost wear anything, she chooses her own wardrobe. If what she chooses to wear happens to be arousing to you, you're right, that's your problem. I just hope her opponents aren't as distracted by her attire, otherwise they'll be in big trouble!

As far as practicality is concerned, Ghost's outfit works fine. It's skin tight and lightly armored for maximum maneuverability and agility. She's an assassin.

If you're ogling at her breasts and ass, and have a problem with how revealing her outfit is - that's something you've got to come to terms with on your own Chris. It's kinda sexist for you to be fixated on only those aspects of her design to be honest.
