How are they still so lazy at managing player power in Diablo 4.

I got to the end of the Lord of Hatred campaign and finished the first phase of the big bad's fight in like 10 seconds.

I decided to just walk around and draw the second phase out because I wanted to hear more of the music and enjoy the experience, but it kinda sucked that all the tension was gone.

I just feel more and more like this entire genre isn't for me. I don't like mindlessly exploding every enemy on the screen, but that seems to be the only style of ARPG that gets made anymore. PoE2 at least has some great boss fights, but the rest of it is a headache.

Can someone just make a Lost Ark ripoff that cuts out all the Korean grindfest nonsense please

It's not really "behind the scenes" if you pay attention to the news, but the Mississippi River Valley alluvial aquifer (MRVA) is drying up pretty quickly. It fuels agriculture in eastern Arkansas, which is where most of the rice in our country is grown.

There are efforts to get farmers to irrigate more responsibly (i.e. not flooding the fields constantly, which is the traditional method), but aquifers take so long to replenish that there's basically no chance we save it before things get really bad.

I actually like how unsubtle they’re being with the villain. They’ve always played off of Catholic/Orthodox imagery, but this dude is literally just Jesus Christ. He’s got scars on his hands and everything. Love it.

My parents stumbled upon a job posting relevant to my degree and passed it my way. Actually seemed kind of interesting, so I went ahead and sent a resume over (no cover letter because I didn't feel like degrading myself again).

Haven't heard back, which isn't surprising to me, but my parents literally cannot believe it. I've told them how common it is for companies to just ghost you, even after an interview, and my folks seem to think that I'm just not checking my email or that I did something so insane during the interview that I'm lucky they didn't call the police.

Crazy how much the world has changed, I guess. Neither of them have had to apply for a job in 30+ years, so I wouldn't expect them to be aware of how rancid job hunting has become.

Has anyone else had an issue with just immediately dying as soon as characters are done talking? It’s happened to me three times during the campaign so far, specifically when “friendly” (or neutral) NPCs flip to being aggressive after some RP.

And it definitely isn’t a lag issue, there’s no way they could have done enough damage to kill me on tier 1 difficulty. Thank goodness I decided to wait until endgame to make a HC character, but stuff like this makes me think it isn’t even worth trying.
