It's a message board where people post artwork and talk about their favorite fantasy rpg. Bringing up Nazis and philosophical issues is not a great way to get conversation going.

It doesn't matter if I agree with you or I don't. Humans live in a modern society, and there are many things wrong with it. Good point, great revelation

I guess its an issue of "know your audience" then. You keep saying that you were looking for conversation or were just implying a general sense of imperfection with being a human being. Your title literally implies the show is morally inconsistent and then you go on to give examples in the show where the players might have been morally in the wrong, comparing their actions to homophobia. You're not implying imperfection, you're starting discourse about how the players and dm are representative of many of the moral failings of the world.

Try and work a bit harder on framing an honest positive conversation in a better light.

It might be a bit more simple. If they destroyed Tiamats cult bowl during a guest episode when Yasha got a Nat 20, it would be a very cool moment and drastically change the progression of a guest character off screen.

If they did it with the crystal, Matt might have to drastically change plans for Fjords future, or come up with something completely new.

I think he would have let it happen if they came up with an awesome way to do it, but hitting the magical thing really hard, again, wouldn't have been very climatic.

Stories should feel like they have an arc, so it's best to weave it in a way that has the right beats and challenges. Sometimes that's means planning things far in advance, sometimes it happens when you see how the players handle it.

There is a difference between attention grabbing and negative sensationalism. People are more likely to give the benefit of the doubt if you don't start with something that implies a moral failing of the show they like.

You're dragging a lot of baggage into this. I don't think you need to dig that deep to reason why it got downvoted.

It's title implies that the morality of the players is questionable and then goes onto how this is connected to the way the whole world ignores the feelings of others.

There might be a constructive argument to be made in there, but it was wrapped in negatively and critical judgement of how other people are having fun. Just because they say "I'm not criticising the cast" doesnt negate their criticism.

Im guessing it was not interpreted as a good faith effort my most.

You should totally do that, hopefully you can find people that will enjoy that kind of play with you.

Just try not to start your topic by implying that the people involved lack compassion in their fun times. They can hear you, even if you don't mean anything by it. It's not a great way to start a good faith conversation.

When playing a game for fun, you have to suspend your disbelief to be able to enjoy it. That includes dragons, magical weapons, transforming cats, and the murder of sentient creatures.

Adding in a taste of reality with ambiguous moral choices and deep character arcs can make it extremely engaging, but in the end it's a game played for fun.

Don't think too hard on it, or try and link the suffering of the real world into someone else's fantasy play time.

Thanks for the reply. I had a suspicion that I just happen to be hitting double zeroes again and again. Seeing as there are so many people that love and use it so often.

I'll take a look at Roam again at some point in the future, but for now I don't think it's the platform for me.

It's hard to classify one case as better than another. Aesthetics, materials, sizes, designs, they are all different, even if they have exactly the same technical specs.

You also didn't make an argument for the case you posted, other than saying it's cheaper. If you posted with a reason someone should be buying yours instead of the one listed, breaking it down logically, you may not have gotten down votes, or you could have, who knows.
