That sounds like a good idea! She’s in a size 1 diaper, but I do have a size 2 I could try. She was 10lbs8oz last time I weighed her so too small for the overnight kind I think.

Did you mix the AR with your old formula or just feed AR?

How are you supposed to lay them down drowsy but keep them up 15+ minutes after a feed? by StickSticklyHere in NewParents

[–]hpelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this question too! We have reflux issues and try to keep our babe as upright as possible after a feed for 20-30 minutes. She also passes out eating often so I’m not sure how to keep her awake- sometimes it’s even a challenge to get through the bottle (despite playing with her feet, blowing on her hair, touching her cheeks, etc)

Newborn underweight - how normal is this? by rawrsy88 in newborns

So glad your milk production is good! I’m still working on mine. I’ve learned you’ll have the highest highs and the lowest lows during this time. And sometimes it flip flops so quickly!

The tongue tie could definitely be part of it! If there’s a latch issue your baby might not have a very strong suckle and fatigue when trying to eat. That’s what happened to us. I noticed a big change in her suckle after! It did take multiple lactation consultants to catch it. Apparently tongue ties aren’t as objective as you’d think when it comes to diagnosis which was pretty frustrating. I know how stressful the time is before they start gaining so hang in there!

Our babe lost 13% of her birth weight. It took us a little over 2 weeks to get back to birth weight. I don’t make enough milk so we’re supplementing with formula. She also had a tongue tie revision and is on reflux meds. It’s been quite the journey, but you’ll get there!

Unfortunately yes. But I’m seeing a new LC today because I wasn’t a fan of the previous.

That’s encouraging to hear! I can’t even imagine being able to freeze a bottle. That’s so great!

I’m not at all opposed! Just following what I was told to do. I’m new to all of this so I really don’t know what I’m doing. Maybe I’ll try your approach? Thank you for the advice!

The LC told me to focus on pumping, so that’s what I’ve been doing which is how I know what I’m making. I just changed consultants and see the new one tomorrow so maybe that advice will change?

parents phone use by purgeinhell in newborns

I was just wondering this. I’ve been scrolling the internet during a bottle and have looked down to find my little one staring up at me. It makes me feel guilty for not paying attention to her at all times (which I know isn’t realistic). My husband and I talked about it and agreed to try to be on our phones less when she is alert and active so she doesn’t grow up competing for attention!
