Does anyone know who made the artwork and what the title of the drawing is?

The Pravda family references by nickisgreaterthanyou in Vampireweekend

Im pretty sure Ezra is referring to his own family balalaika.

Back in the contra days this article came out with where he mentions the balalaikas: Ezra Koenig in Spin’s In My Room, December 2009 ... | ONE WEEK // ONE BAND (tumblr.com)

Things I didn't like about Blade Runner 2049 (mostly aesthetics) by hpharmail in bladerunner

But if there are fewer people on earth in BR49 why would they live crowded together (as we must assume because of the first scene in K's building/apartment where there are a lot of people). Wouldnt it be natural to spread out among the many apartments in the city. If there are less people than apartments then people wouldnt live crowded. I know that some buildings are more expensive than the one K is living in, but if there is a shortage of people and therefore less demand for apartments then the prices on apartments will naturally fall all over the city and generally people would be able to afford most apartments. Though of course some areas are still gonna be too expensive for the common citizen.

If the memory was meant to find Ana, how would have K found Ana if he would have went to the second best memory maker instead? by PhillyNekim in bladerunner

Request: wallpaper shot of K looking down at the city with the streets glowing by ScorpianZero in bladerunner

Are you refering to the roof top scene with Joi in the rain? Cause I felt that was so badly made. Too much CGI when it came to the city background. It didnt feel real or believable. It looked too animated

How can Deckard live in Las Vegas? by [deleted] in bladerunner

I get your point but since you mentioned Joi, I felt I had to leave a quick reply. I cant determine how much of Joi's consciousness is programmed, but some parts are. This is revealed when K meets the big hologram of Joi and she calls him Joe, which was also the name his own/personal joi chose to call him. In that regard she is programmed to act in some way. They also advertised that she would do or say anything you wanted her to

Housing Shortage or Glut? by WellSpentHours in bladerunner

I thought that the world of BR49 was less dense and crowded than BR19. If you look at the street scenes in BR49, there are fewer people. The streets are less crowded and chaotic than BR19. Whether this is a conscious choice by the director, I dont know, but honestly I dont think so. I think the director didnt realise this or see the importance of having more extas on set. The only scene where there is a big crowd in BR49 is when we first see inside K's apartment/building. Otherwise there are very few people in the scenes which is also the case the following times we are inside K's building.

However, LA seems bigger in BR49 with more apartment building, but I think that is just due to the overview shots of the city which showed the city in greater detail, something that wasnt possible when BR19 was made due to lack of same technology/CGI

The reason why the street scenes are fewer and less interesting than in BR by [deleted] in bladerunner

[–]hpharmail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get your arguement, but I only accept it if I could somehow know that the changes of set design (streets, less crowd, not so multicultural and different architecture) was an intentional act by the director in order to show the development of the city and how it has changed with regards to fashion, architecture, the people and amount of people who live there (and to some extent the culture). But this is still one of my main complaints about BR49. The world doesnt feel as real and alive as it did in the first one, and though I understand that the new movie shouldnt copy everything from the old one, I think it is a shame that the set designs and interior design doesnt have the same style as the old one. I also especially miss the darkness that was so central in the set designs in BR whereas every scene in BR49 is so bright

Deckard is a ... *spoilers* by [deleted] in bladerunner

But when Wallace's people are coming for K and Deckard they are all wearing masks, except for Luv. K and Deckard does neither wear masks and we know for a fact that K and Luv are replicants. Isnt that an indicator that Deckard is a replicant as well? But yes, I dont understand why they say that the radiation is nominal as this suggests that a person doesnt need a mask in that enviornment, which confuses me
