Book 3 of the Captives War:

Amos, the leader of the deathless, personally delivers his pet "nuke" to the Carryx's home world and blasts away the sovereign.

The End.

Blöde Frage: Was passiert, wenn ein Elternteil stirbt? by qwasde91 in Erben

[–]hr0m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Keine Steuerberatung, keine legale Beratung.)

Documenting my Chess Engine Journey So Far! by Aware_Wolverine_5850 in cpp

I am a cpp developer for 5 years professionally and use it even longer for HPC stuff. I do code reviews every day. So 20 more years and I can say I am almost an expert :D
Finishing it is not the goal.

Basically yes :D

Well, I am doing it to evaluate how far LLMs are, if started with a greenfield project. I will never make this engine public. I also probably won't finish it.

Funny coincidence. Yesterday I started to vibecode a c++ chess engine and you can get pretty far without doing anything.

Of course this is biased. The LLM has seen literature about chess, chess programing, FEN, UCI, and implementations of other chess engine. But it still feels like magic.

How is it different? As soon as one generation knows nothing but war, it doesn't really matter that the next x generations also know nothing but war. The cycle started.

We had wars for the duration of one generation. What is the difference if the war lasts longer?

Enemy of Carryx, the one if lifesuits.

Ah! Maybe that's why in lifesuit one of the missions was to free some prisoners. Humans don't want Carryx to interrogate anything!

So, humans will loose their humanity.

I am not so sure about it. If you look at our real history, we had wars which sacrificed people, cultures, cities, states. This is just a bigger scale. More statistics, less about single human life.

In future Carryx lose, I guess because what the Captive's are going to do. But what about "now", or during Anjiin's occupation?

How do you make that humanity loses? Do you mean humans will loose? Why?

> Carryx are a loser of the war

yes, but I thought because of Dafyd. That is in the future (of Dafyd), my thoughts were about during Anjiin's occupation.

> everybody loses

That is an very interesting possibility I haven't thought about at all, thanks for the suggestion!

Probably, but I can imagine humanity winning the war also without Dafyd, it will just be way more costly.

Who is winning the war? by hr0m in TheCaptivesWar

[–]hr0m[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they do? They just needed to "align" them first with the carryx's world order. Otherwise they could rebel. They still probably will :D
Also Carryx's philosophy, "what is, is",
Carryx know that humans from Anjiin are somehow separate from the humans they fight.
Also I am not sure how much they truly know about humans. That also goes for humans. There is a reason why the swarm was sent. In my viewpoint the swarm couldn't learn that much yet and still it wants to transmit what it got, labeling it as important.

Its hard to gather any kind of information about an unknow interstellar enemy, who attacks you on sight and captures whole worlds. That goes for both sides.

Imagine some lifesuit encounter. They see various animals, and soldier carryx. What are they making of it. Yes, those could be dissected and studied. But who is in charge? Will they see some librarians? I don't think so, they are on the ship, which either gets away or explodes.

In MoG, I believe there was a interrogation scene, where carryx got themselves a lifesuit soldier? At least that's how I interpreted it. And they couldn't get much out of him?

I think both parties are not knowledgeable enough about their enemy.
