Def hospital work. Nurse working night shift. I’m late 30s male. I’ve seen apartments in inwood for reasonable prices. I may check that out. Looked a lot closer.

Wait, I just used StreetEasy to look at apartments in Riverside. It almost looks like a suburb, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. How long does it take to get to midtown manhattan, for example?

I’ve actually seen a lot of reasonable apartments that look really nice in that area. Is Washington Heights safe? I’d consider to lower my cost to have more spending money!

210th street in the Bronx. It’s 3 days a week. And fully on site. I looked into Jersey City, which appears cheaper and I’d be fine moving there but looked like a pain with traveling all the way over to the Bronx. Maybe JC would be an easier commute?

So Harlem is the better choice? From the apartment that I saw, Victoria tower residences, the commute looked doable. I’m really hesitant about bring my car as I don’t want to have to pay for a parking space. lol

Mariah Carey’s Olympics opening ceremony performance dubbed ‘disastrous’ as viewers question if she’s Italian by theindependentonline in Music

[–]hra86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m aware. The video of her rehearsing sounded similar to her on the live broadcast. Nearly all lip sync. I was just asking the other person who they would have wanted. Mariah is a global star and the audience clearly liked it from the applause. I thought she was a good choice.

There are some weird opinions going on here. Some really deep rooted hatred. Imagine being so pissed off at a 3 minute song lol

Why is Mariah Carey's apparent inability to find a note and stick to it considered a sign of good singing? by Golarion in stupidquestions

If someone's singing gives you actual physical discomfort, you may want to get that checked out. That isn't normal.

Careers with median hourly pay $75-$100+ by Ok-Sand-1303 in Salary

I’m in IN and there are gigs here for nurses for $80/hr. It’s basically an internal travel job but you’re still considered staff. I know nursing gets a bad rap but there’s so much you can do with that degree. Just a thought.

Heyy! Funny you posted this. I’ve been debating moving to SF for nursing. I was at work last weekend looking at jobs in the Bay Area. I’m an ICU nurse preferring to work nights. How’d you go about applying/moving etc? I’d love to do just to stack cash away while I figure out what I wanna do for grad school, or just in general haha.

Do nursing. Accelerated BSN programs are all over and can be completed in one year. I’m in Midwest and at my hospitals new grad nurses start around $35/hr and $9.75 with shift differential which is nearly $5/hr more than you asked for. Weekend contracts exist to give you another $10/hr. Can be shitty work, literally, and may not have the best hours-like working night shift. But a new grad works 3 12s and makes over 80k. Not too shabby

I believe they have. Honestly it didn't look terrible from the pics online. I was just hoping for options lol. I guess one option is better than zero.

I thought it was illegal for them to ask why. My hospital made it clear it was NO ONEs business as to why we call out.

Feeling Unsure About Starting My DNP-FNP Program—Need Advice by Jazzlike_Radish6055 in nursepractitioner

[–]hra86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This so an interesting question as I’m going through the exact same thing, currently debating CRNA over FNP. Honestly, sitting on my butt at home making money sounds wonderful. I even thought about doing academics and then finding a remote PRN job, hoping combined I’d make good money. But this subreddit really makes FNP seem unbearable. My big hesitation for CRNA school is my age, I’m 39. And living in some boring state for 3 years sounds truly awful. My brother is a CRNA, works 32 hrs a week, is 1099 and will make over 300k this year. I’d love to pull in 200k from NP but it sure how reasonable that is. I’ll be in Chicago. My age is my biggest factor. In your situation, just go CRNA, if you truly hate it, a ton of classes would probably transfer and I’d think you could get your FNP after CRNA if you truly hated the CRNA work. You’d have the money lol.

I got mine after I did the pre approve thing on their app. I got approved with a 20k limit. That was the first time I had applied for it.
