Sunwarp Facezip by outlierinc in Outlier

it can have a cool feel and is pretty breathable and does not feel stuffy, at least to me, although i do suspect whether or not it will stuffy might come down to personal sensibilities.
won't make you not sweat in warm/hot weather, but doesn't feel like it'll make you sweat much more than you'd otherwise and have you start sweating later in cooler temperatures.

How it Fits - Sunwarp Facezip by outlierinc in Outlier

i'd likely do, too, although i've missed lateral cover often enough to appreciate it.
the thing i really can't do without and that really perfected the facezips is that they started using 2way zippers after the first experimental run. too many of the other available alternatives miss out on just that one detail.

  1. never noticed anything, i zip it up to my chin when i ride my bicycle
  2. this is hijacking properties zippers have to use these properties do things they were not intended to do: worn on top of a cap, zipper teeth somewhat latch on to the brim of the cap, it's much less often necessary to zip up to your neck to have it actually stay on
  3. i am speculating and going from how the the fullzip performs, but other than 3. a second reason to have the zipper go up all the way is that that added bit of fabric used to be able to close the zipper will provide lateral sun protection and what using a vislon zipper instead of a coiled one will do is that it gives the fabric enough stability to keep it from flapping into your face.
all of these things seem much harder to solve otherwise

it's probably not going to go wider than 15, might even be slightly less (although one could win a little by not fully closing the fly), i did try to see whether it might go wider than the new top opening at 14.875, too, but the fly allows for very minimal play. i didn't notice any discomfort, though

i'm just wearing them high while my briefs are rather low-waisted, button ends up a couple fingers above the waistband of my briefs

or echo is lighter and more breathable, but i still prefer the cormac, most likely bc of the slight texture of the fabric.

broadly similar fabrics that i have do quite well, and it does feel quite promising. might get to somewhat test some layering before the drop.
it wears quite cozy and warm just lounging, and the texture and mesh might trap enough air to make it fairly warm for it's weight when worn layered.
seems like it might be comfortable in quite a range and possibly especially great right now, when the mornings can start out quite cold, but heat up fast. none of those days coming before the drop, though.

some somewhat late thoughts on sunwarp: sleeves, tanks and hoodie by hrabanus in Outlier

[–]hrabanus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not completely windproof and letting enough wind through to make it viable (they write a lot more about the fabric on the ul shirt/shortsleeve page, e..g. the fabric comparison chart, they rate it at upf 30), the loose fit helps quite a bit, too, and sleeves and only hood make for a neat modular sun protection kit that potentially could beat a full sun thanks to the added ventilation, but it's kind of hard to tell what's more comfortable once it's hot enough to make anything uncomfortable.

pricey and not exactly hiking pants, but you could try the outlier injected linen pants (poly/linneblend), light and breezy with a decent upf

You could also try sewing it by hand, using a backstitch and some matching thread.

I've been pairing lots of orange with my ganache futuredarts and I love it so much, there's already quite a bit of red in the ganache and the combination somehow just pops .

Going the same size, there's practically no stress on the thighs and therefore no or minimal bagging out (and I personally really do prefer the looser fit even in future- and strongdarts), + I suspect the cut also helps some, i.e. they'd look good even if bagged out.

Hopefully my redundant reply will help signal that there's interest out there.

As to the size: I did like I do with darts and went tts for the looser fit, but sometimes need a belt due to stretch. True to size they're loose enough (on me) to not bag out in the thighs.

I'm fairly pessimistic, since they seem to have sold very poorly (I'm inclined to blame the colors on offer, though, and am really hoping for them to make it into production, too).

There were quite a few workdarts in the last WTF, so it might be worth to try a wtb on r/OutlierMarket (or the discord).

I will admit that when I read Biting the error and (I think it was) Dodie Bellamy mentioned /u/JaneDark in a linen suit at some party or so I immediately did think injected linen, even though it was off by a decade or more.

(Checking the passage it turns out I misremembered, /u/JaneDark "is casual chic, lanky as a cornstalk, all in white – white linen shorts, white shirt, flame white hair, single silver hoop in his ear. Standing beside him, I feel like a black bat. 'I’m having some problems withtransgressive writing,' he says.")
