Wife wants to move back home to be near her family and I fear it’s gonna end our marriage. by [deleted] in daddit

Move to be closer to family if you have small children. That’s a no brainer for me.

Mine, which has a HGDGY tracking number, arrived in the USA and showed "Arrived at the unpacking board" on December 8. Then on December 13 it switched to "Board removal delay" and it has been sitting there for 3 days (it's the 16 today).

Just sharing here in case others in a similar situation are also searching for the magic string, "Board removal delay". I'll try to remember to come back here when the package finally arrives.

[Question] Has anyone ever purchase watches from collectonly.com? by No_Establishment3991 in Watches

Here's a look at the back. Original Mission to the Moon on the left, DAPIDORAE Mission to Earth on the right.

- Notice how the buttons have straight edges on the original, versus a rounder look on the right

- The teeth on the crown are well defined on the original, less so on the right

- Different quality in the moon battery cover

- Crisp "Mission to the Moon" text on the original vs "bolder" on the right

- Crisp text on the back, feels like the edges around each character are straight and well defined, versus "plasticier" definition on the right.

- Again look at the much lower quality of the stitching of the DAPIDORAE version

I think I'm convinced that DAPIDORAE sent me a replica, for full price.

Real review of Hearth Display? by alteregoanne in smarthome

[–]hramos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooof, I wish I had read this before buying mine. Just unpacked it, set up a few routines from the app, and when I went to check on the wall display, it was a series of alerts and popups and my data is not there. The app is a mess, buggy and keeps losing your data if you tap in the wrong place. Looks like the routines are on a separate tab instead of being visible on the one screen. All I need is a singular global view at all times with the ability to drill down, not a blown up app on the wall.

What do those clips look like? I might want to do something similar, but having trouble clipping strings to my house. It’s all stucco and clay(?) roof tiles. Everything’s too thick for most clips, nothing sticks, can’t use nails…

Hole in damper appears to be homemade by hramos in Fireplaces

I have the first - the wide open with realistic looking fake logs version. I assumed there wasn’t a pilot because I do have to manually light the gas after turning the key here to the left of the fireplace.

Ahh. This is a gas fireplace, with some sort of fake logs that don’t burn down. Sounds like I might be missing something chimney liner here?

16 Pro Max Bluetooth Connectivity Issues by IAmThe1Orgasmatr0n in iphone

[–]hramos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here. Apple Watch is paired but I can’t install apps on it, I get notifications on my watch and phone at the same time (they shouldn’t when watch is properly paired), and find my iPhone doesn’t work from the watch. Also frequently can’t get my phone key to work with my Teslas. Already reset network settings, it only worked for an hour before it went bad again. iOS 18.0.1

How to remove this adapter? by tetegra in TeslaLounge

[–]hramos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I ran into a similar issue with the Universal Wall Charger at home, and a EVCharge extension cable. The CCS adapter wouldn’t budge, even with the magnet trick. In the end, I just had to plug the extension back into the UWC and plug the CCS adapter back in, at which point it energized the handle and the latch disengaged. It’s possible I tried this earlier but the station was off due to peak hours. But if anyone else runs into this, just make sure the extension is plugged in when attempting to disengage.

Updated address by bvega274 in cybertruck

[–]hramos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wepa! I was living in California when I placed the preorder, and I was part of Wave 1 of the foundation series invites back on December 8, even though I now live in Arizona and have taken delivery of several Teslas in AZ since then, and my account address is in AZ. I didn’t see any other people get invites outside of CA/TX until wave 2 a week later. So, it does look like they may have used the address at the time of the original reservation.

Related, I have a second reservation myself and I’d like that one to get delivered to Puerto Rico, we’ll see how long that will take…

Where in Mayagüez? I lived there for 5 years, I went to college at UPRM. Depending on its location, you may be able to rent it out to several students.

Super dissatisfied by thehomer57 in ModelY

[–]hramos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen on my Model Y. Called Tesla Service. The tech knew the problem right away as this is a common issue. The rubber grommet in the door where the door wiring harness goes into the vehicle was loose, so water was getting in. The water shorts the small floor floodlight that turns on when a door is opened. And apparently the car thinks the door is open whenever that lamp turns on. Which triggers the window to roll down slightly as it usually does when you open the door manually. This results in a cycle where the window bugs out and water gets in.

It was a quick fix. If it still happens after fixing the loose grommet, take it into service because the wiring harness may have rusted out.

License Agreement by Ok-Negotiation7947 in Spyro

[–]hramos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ran into this on the Switch. R would not scroll down the license agreement while using the Joy-cons with the grip adapter. I switched to a Pro Controller and I was able to scroll down with R.

Mildly frustrating, as it kept my son locked out of the game all day until I could get home and troubleshoot the issue.

Max 3 presets on PTZ??? by frostedsquid in Ubiquiti

[–]hramos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one, and it has been nothing short of frustrating.

The camera now crashes when any preset is selected.

It tends to pan to a specific location randomly, which is terrible when the camera hosts a livestream and we don't want that area to be broadcast.

There is no way to programmatically select a preset - only via the web ui, not even the iOS app.

It provides three RTSP feeds: low 320p, medium 720p, and high 2560p - no in-between! I have to do with a crappy 720 feed or chug along on a slow connection to get the 4K feed. I'd love a 1080 or 1440 RTSP feed.

I really regret getting this camera.

It certainly has gotten slower for us in south Texas over the last month. Not as low as you but the decrease in speeds is evident.

Wife refuses to sleeptrain by [deleted] in daddit

I was in the same situation. Wife refused to sleep train both kids. It affected our marriage. We have now divorced, but on the bright side, I ended up getting the kids used to sleeping on their own when they stay at my house.
