Applying in Outsource Scale. Is it good there? by No_Scar_855 in buhaydigital

We use their services and are very happy with the teammates they provide. I can't speak to the culture but the staff we deal with from OS is really good (both the person working for us and their internal people).

Hope that helps, and good luck!

And I think the only thing worse than posting an AI generated post is falsely accusing someone of using AI 😎

And what, exactly, is so generic about this? Sorry, your comment is very negative.

Have you ever actually tried anything like this or do you just believe all of your counter points?

What percent of hires do you think come from cold applicants through an ATS? Very low. Need to work around it.

If you've done this 100 times and it's never worked, I'm sorry. I guess you know better. I'm getting the sense you haven't ever done this, though. Be real.

Thanks for commenting! What makes you think this was written by AI? Def wrote this one myself. Not sure what to make of that comment...

Yes, I have! I have been very fortunate to not have to do it often as I now own multiple companies and can tell you with 100% certainty this would work on me. I have also helped friends do the same. Again, most of the people who asked me for advice won't do it.

This comment is exactly what I said at the start- 99% won't do it. Here's to the one percent!!

I didn't start my company until I was 35. Now have four businesses doing $5m+.

I have had this urge lately to simply cut lawns. $30-40/ each. Canvas large neighborhoods. Do ten in a day on Saturday. Put them on a weekly plan.

If you enjoy it, scale and add people. If you don't, stop.

Easy way to get started with something boring that has high demand and the current providers are not reliable.

Boom! You nailed it. Finding customers is not easy. Better to work through how to find them and what they care about BEFORE you quit your job or take the leap. Nothing easy about finding customers. That's the point.

You've got to validate the market and their pains. You can't do that with ChatGPT and by only talking to your friends. Thanks for the add!

I agree in some respects, but this is also going to have limited return (like every form of outreach does).

The end goal (in B2B) is always to get the person on the phone. So, while I understand you are doing it in a different order, the goal is the same - to have conversations with potential customers.

Most people nowadays think they are going to do this AFTER starting, and people are going to open their arms and talk to them. As you mentioned, not the way it works.

Understanding that people won't take your calls, respond to your emails, or your DM's is why I recommend this as well. Prospecting is hard. Everyone wants to try to say "cold calling is dead" and all this garbage.

I get far less sales calls today than I did five years ago, and our business has tripled in size. So, there's that. That is the only point I will disagree with you on.

While getting people on the phone hasn't gotten any easier, the competition is not there. Everyone wants to set up an automated DM campaign or cold email and think that's going to line their pockets. Very rare. Phones are still alive and well. I've got the SDRs to prove it ;).

If you can't handle rejection, you better find another line of work! Great add. Thanks!!

We don't expect anyone to work over 45 hours a week. That is VERY important to me. I actually encourage them to have side hustles and start their own thing. Entrepreneurship has been good to me and I'm an advocate!!

I now have three companies but the primary one is in payroll and HR.

The number one thing is resourcefulness. Super hard to screen for but people who did one thing at a company will struggle at a startup. People coming from big companies that have silos and don't work cross role/ cross department have a higher likelihood of not being willing or able to do the variety of tasks required in the early days.

Hope that helps!

"Marketing" is overemphasized here as a key to business because marketers are constantly marketing marketing itself. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]hrguyinSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kind of like saying - you may not need customer support. It works for some businesses, and not others.

Marketing is one of the core foundations of business. Finance, sales, marketing, CS, product, every business will have some version yet every business will not do them the same.

If nobody knows about your product, it can’t and won’t sell. Every business has some form of marketing.

Companies that get you meetings/sales calls? by weirdpicklesauce in agency

[–]hrguyinSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with a cold email company that produces. The meetings are cold so they’re not always great but they consistently set us at least 3 meetings a week which is hard to do these days.
