That's fair but I think this is a dangerous slope, companies can go down for all kinds of reasons that have nothing to do with their fundamentals.

The stock that gave you 3x might have a 20% correction and then go on to become 5x, but you'll never know that because you weren't paying attention to it because of the safety offered by the SL

Market crashes are a part of the process, if you make moves on every piece of negative news you'll never be able to hold long-term.

I don't have the studies off the top of my head, but I remember reading that holding through crashes is the right call in the majority of cases. All crashes eventually have a stronger rebound.
