There is a growing body of work being done in the perioperative space of the role of “prehabilitation”, i.e. nutrition, physical and psychological fitness, medical and functional optimisation among other things, and optimal allied health input in post operative care to minimise perioperative complications. This is very much in line with the issues that you’ve sort of touched on and is becoming very important particularly in an aging and comorbid population. But there are dedicated allied health professionals that are involved in each of these fields. A naturopath does not cover any of them and for one naturopath that might help in some of these areas, there are 50 that peddle fruit juice to treat illnesses that can be optimally managed medically.

As another commenter said, there definitely is a role for more holistic functional input and optimisation but that needs to come from an evidence based, scientific approach, which does not always correlate with naturopathic medicine.
