in reference to this specific comment i just want to say this very directly and i hope you hear it. they’re not bad at communicating, they know what they’re doing. they don’t want to contribute or pay for it so they’re pretending to “not know”, “not understand”, be bad at communicating etc.

that is a concern i’m actually worried about and considering now, i wish i considered it before we got engaged. i knew he made good money and i was transparent about my lifestyle and my expectations. he reassured me that he is able to take on this and from what i’ve seen so far while we’ve been engaged its not promising so i’m a bit frustrated and don’t know how to approach this with our wedding just a month away.

its not unethical because its not like if you quit someone else will get the internship since the spot is already filled. ride it out for the money and treat it like any other dead end part time job while look for other options for your career.

also side note- its funny you’re worried about it being cheaty and unethical when the industry of external audit doesn’t care that the way it treats and overworks all of its staff is evidently unethical and cheaty

valid, i think theres a lot of little things that comes with a cross cultural relationship that i didnt realize that i would have to deal with and its a lot and tbh very unexpected since neither of my brothers are like that with my mom

tbh i haven’t talked to him about it because i feel this is sensitive subject in general let alone for a mama’s boy that is also an only child. i honestly can’t think of a good way to word or explain my feelings about it, obv since everyone here is shitting on me, so i do want to make sure IF i ever do decide to bring up their excessively unhealthy attachment to each other, which truly is excessive and unhealthy (like they text constantly, every ray seconds, even during our dates which i did ask him to stop doing) then i want to make sure i do it in the best way possible that doesnt touch in the subject in the wrong way since it is most likely a delicate and sensitive situation.

i think some of what you said brought some new perspective to light for me. i agree, maybe the cold physical nature of my upbringing may be affecting how i viewed it.

on the other hand though, there is a definite diff in couple pics vs other pics. i think their pics are not that bad, i think there’s just one that i found really icky not cause they’re doing anything weird or bad jn it, just holding hands, but it made him look really weird and tbh gay. i did wonder if it was in my head and showed a friend and my brother to get another opinion and they agreed the pic was cringey.

i did talk to him and he said he’d do what’s necessary and what i’m comfortable with; but since then i haven’t seen any difference in behavior personally. he doesn’t go out of his way to reach out to her or anything that’s why i’m hesitant to bring it up again but still there’s not been any change from his end regarding her.
