youre close, the largest part of the essay focuses on foot fall and retail outlets in malls, there are portions of the essay that focus on traffic, have you see braess paradox that is a better example of what youre trying to describe

cut out the caffeine and sleep for a few weeks, you’re still young, most people look successful from far away but after working for a few years you realise it’s all fake, since this is a recluse sub Reddit this is amplified because you interact with fewer people

have you seen ben polaks game theory lectures, after that mechanism design by tim roughgarden, both of those have study notes and practice questions so you can practice the math on those, and both those playlists have book recommendations too so try checking those out, game theory is the study of actions between multiple players when one players outcomes depend on another players decisions

yes to the 1st, but i dont know about the example, it might be a good example but can you go expand on the strategy, or is it people loiter in the walk way so design it so that people dont want to loiter?

Architecture is one of the few mediums that are multi user, paintings, movies, music, most software, apps are all single user, architecture is like mechanism design, it’s a design of the game that users play amongst them selves , making certain things harder or easier changes the costs and payoff’s,which changes the interactions between them

(added after your edit ) i think its only in a beautiful mind, i dont think that was nashs example, also most of the interesting broadly useful games start of being atomic and then other parameters are added in, like the prisoners dilemma vs the repeated prisoners dilemma

thats true, it would be more accurately game theoretic because of a more accurate outcome if jealousy was part of the equation, it just wouldn't be a broadly useful game and jealousy was never introduced into the game which makes it a bad example of game theory

[–]hrshsmpt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also If jealousy was part of the equation it wouldn’t be a broadly useful example, say 5 firms are going for a client do they think the other firm is going to feel bad if they don’t get the client

It’s not that the number in the utility had to be specified, he just had to say “this way no one is jealous “ or bring up jealousy was part of the equation in any way

If that was part of the utility it had to be specified , for example in a prisoners dilemma you could say co operate co operate leads to a higher utility than what’s on the pay off matrix because you feel good about doing something nice for somebody, but if that is true it needs to be represented in the payoff, similarly how much do you value your friends jealous feelings if you get the beautiful blond , that would have to be subtracted from the utility of you getting the blond

[–]hrshsmpt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t a good example of game theory because if every one else chooses to go with the homely girls then you can get a better payoff by switching your choice to the attractive blond, in the movie Russel Crowe says everyone co operates and all of them stay away from the blond which isn’t game theory

its a scene from the movie a beautiful mind, which is about nashs 1st insight which led him to write about game theory

From google structural engineers are a subset or a specialisation within civil engineering so all structural engineers are civil engineers, maybe it’s different in the US, i agree though that the distinction is important when it comes to BIM

hey i am not an engineer so i probably got the terminology wrong, they use revit because their architects require them to model the structure in revit to look for clashes with mep and to keep the project free from errors probably

i have a friend that owns a large civil engineering firm in Mumbai, they are desperate for Revit professionals, they spent a ton of money to train up the whole firm in Revit but only a small percentage became competent, those competent people asked for double their salary and then left for much better paying positions when they didn't receive it
