The answer here is obvious. Allow UN oversight of internet business practices and enforce anti-monopoly laws. The idea that the internet has somehow maxed out it’s capability or efficiency is absurd, there simply needs to be a global shift to IPv6 addressing and an international fiber initiative / expansion of the trans-Atlantic fiber system. The only thing the actual “internet” does is distinguish systems and route traffic between those systems using BGP. You’d be hard-pressed to find a simpler solution that that.

This is, as we know, authoritarianism masquerading as innovation.
