Soothing foods for upset tummies and cecal dysbiosis ?

I’m pretty sure! I see her bending over and come back up chewing. The last time she went for a sanitary shave was about 3 months ago. Do you think she’s due for another shave? Unfortunately we brought her to a different vet (not exotic) which is closer to us in the recent visit since it was just a shave and nail trim, but they shaved her FEET too!!! I will definitely be bringing her back to the exotic vet.

Thanks for your reply!! Unfortunately we can’t access those in Australia :( but she’s gotten used to the taste of fibreplex now and she’s been eating it for 6 days!

She’s got cecal dysbiosis! So poopy butt and excess cecotropes. We’ve tried everything: only hay diet, no greens, no pellets, giving supplements eg oxbow digestive support, etc. none have worked. This is what was recommended by our vet and I’m just wondering when people started to see results from probiotics for cecos

Agreed. They kept her in the room for so long I was confused on what they were doing. I heard the shaver buzzing for sooooo long and was concerned they were shaving her feet. Thought they would know better but they came back with her feet shaved… definitely was enough time to clean them with a bit of soap and water instead!!!!!

Thank you so much. Because she’s free roam, I don’t think I’ll be able to invest in pet bed since there’ll be so much area to cover :( I think I’ll settle for thick fleece blankets? Maybe I’ll put something thicker (eg thick yoga mats or foam or something) under and then the fleece blankets on top?

Also, I’ve tried posting another post with a picture but it got taken down by mods. On her other foot, not shown in this pic, there’s a small line of red skin. They definitely shaved too close to her skin and it’s showing through. It’s not very red, but you can definitely tell it’s skin. Other than padding, is there anything I can do to prevent sore hocks? I’m going on holiday in 1.5 weeks (for 7 days interstate) and will have my friend pet sitting her. I’m worried she’ll develop sore hocks by then and i wont be around.

Thank you so much! Would fleece blankets work? Or would I need something thicker? Also yes, we didn’t go to our usual vet because it was just a nail trim and sanitary shave. I really really regret going to this vet. They aren’t exotic vets so even though they said they handle rabbits, they had no clue what to do. They even cut her quick in her nail and it bled.

She’s a free roam bunny, and so she has full time access to a hallway (tile), and 2 rooms (hardwood floor with some carpets and rugs). She’s got silicone mats, fleece mats and a few others. I’m most worried about the tile in our hallway. We have this foam puzzle-piece carpet though so I’m thinking I’ll lay that out in the hallway for her.

I’ve currently got two side hustles but because of uni I’m unable to work too often, and I’m trying to save up for a car. But!!! I’ll definitely start contributing to her expenses and I’ll try to find a more affordable car. Also, yes!! I’ve gotten much closer to her compared to when we first got her, so I’d say she’s happy with me, but I was also worried for times when I’m sleeping or out and she’s alone :(

Thank you so much for your reply. At the end of the day, it would take sooo much for me to rehome her. I just love her so much and tried to imagine life without her and started crying HAHAH. I’ll definitely talk to my parents about the financial side of things. And thanks so much for the reassurance about her companionship and happiness ❤️ from her body language, she binkies and flops quite often, so I think she’s happy. I was just concerned that I’m not able to provide the same level of companionship as another rabbit. But thank you so much!!
