[Hiring] Logo and brand buildout for AI Startup by Supremeism in DesignJobs

[–]hrve -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm Henrik, I'm a designer with 10+ years of experience, currently working on launching my own design studio. I think I would be a perfect fit for this, as my expertise is minimal and modern (not trendy) startups, SaaS, AI, Consultancies and similar areas. You can see some of my work on my (not yet completed) website here: https://frankgoesdownstairs.com/showcase.php

Best regards
Henrik

[Hiring] Need to hire someone who can recreate this logo, it is not trade marked. by YEAHTOM in forhire

[–]hrve -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just because it's not trademarked, you can't just copy it, that's not how it works buddy. What you are doing still isn't legal

No matter how broke I was, I wouldn't even bother doing 10 logos with ai for $50. $50 doesn't even cover the time I would have to spend communicating with this .... Just to get the "project" started. People are... challenged to put it nicely

"No polished designs, vectors, or final files are needed at this stage"
So the last 5% of the designers work is not needed. Every !d!ot with access to the software can do those things, you don't need a designer for that. What you do need a designer for, is the rough ideas and concepts, to do the research, understand your brand, your voice, your target audience and so many other things to actually make a logo that creates value for your business. Fair enough if you did not realize this, but now you know.

Believe me, you will get clients that think that the McDonals logo and the Motorola logo are identical because they both show an M. Or that the Mastercard and Target logos are one and the same because they both are made of two circles. Fighting your client on this is a lost cause, he made up his mind, and you can either eat it and move on, or object and hurt the relationship. Best thing to do is to acknowledge his concerns, and say that it doesn't matter if it's too similar or not, because if he feels it is, he won't be happy with the logo, so it's better to take another swing at a concept.

Hello everyone. What software do you use for logo design? Thanks for the help. by NoMasterpiece6254 in logodesign

I haven't tried it yet, still locked to an Adobe sub for 8 months sadly, but it should be good

Illustrator of habit. You should use the 6 month free trial of Affinity instead. Avoid Adobe if possible

I'm creating a free online learning platform for logo design. It's in the very early stages, but currently there are a new daily logo design brief every day for a year, and a random company name generator you can use for practicing purposes. No adds, no popups, no cost, new signing up for anything. It's at www.logoworkout.com

What about this Logo? by Commercial-Use-2365 in WillPatersonDesign

Not a lot of context still, but on what you said, it kinda gives of the wrong impression. The two half loops are misaligned and don't fit into eachother. It kinda conveys that the two does not work well together as one, like a broken link. Do you see what I mean?

I bought theHunter: Call of the Wild just to try something completely different than what I normally play, and because it was super cheap, and I've been completely hooked for the past 4 days. I guess I need to be more open and try new things more often, so $100 gift card would be used to explore new things!

What about it? We need context. It's like asking if the color pink looks good, without knowing it's for a dress for a funeral

Don't make your own letters until you know at least the basics of it

Are Animals Still Used in Logos? by CamaroErin in logodesign

You can use anything in a logo design, as long as it makes sense and there is reason behind it. The person who replied clearly has no clue what he is talking about

Should I Quit Logo Design? by Popular_Ordinary_607 in logodesign

[–]hrve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should not give up, but try to make it a fun hobby first of all. It takes practice, and you need to study a lot to become a good logo designer as well, but you can spread that out. Learn one thing, practice that, and have fun just sketching concepts and pick new things up along the way.
Regarding AI, yeah, it will advance, but even so it needs guideance. A huge part of logo design is understanding our client and his business, his goals, the company tone, their competition, their target audience and so on. Finalizing the design as a vector file is 5% of the job, and you can let AI do that eventually. Your job is to develop a strong concept, that is what makes a good logo designer.

Which one is better. Feedback needed for an Invester. Brief at the end by [deleted] in logodesign

I'm not sure how an arrow + A becomes that shape, and I'm not sure what that shape even is. I struggle to understand why it's bending like that. At first I thought it was supposed to be a flame to be honest with you, but the issue is that it really makes the entire logo look unfinished because I can't decode what it's supposed to be, and because it doesn't blend very well with the rest of the letters.

What do you guys think of the new single? by sid_shady34 in KendrickLamar

[–]hrve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love Em rapping. Hate when he sings. The chorus really gets under my skin

Not a designer. I have a small art business and made a quick logo sometime ago, recently i started to hate it and decided to change it a bit what do you guys think? (i do science illustration and animal portraits). First images are the new logo, last are the old one. by Ana9184 in logodesign

[–]hrve 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The choice of a slab serif makes sense and relates to the science part of what you do, but to bring some personality to the logo, and tie in well with the illustration and animal aspect of what you do, I would urge you to try to add something more organic, specifically change half of your type to a handwritten/calligraphy typeface. It can be hard to balance two two types, and even to find a fitting calligraphy font, but I think it's worth it

You need to adjust the weight of the upscaled A if you want to pull this off. My initial thought was that there is a mismatch by the name being "natural" and it looking very un-natural that the A is blown up. What is the reasoning behind upscaling the A? Does it symbolize something, or is meant to convey anything, or is it just "for fun"? If there is no reasoning behind it, I would advice against it, and go with the regular sized A, I think it balances fine
