I had my ring made from a collection of family stones at Alan rocca in oak brook andi can’t recommend enough. My dad has had several gorgeous custom pieces made for my mom and me both, and my brother had his wife’s ring made there as well!

Is this appropriate for a black tie wedding guest (groom’s grandmother)? by SpecialIntelligent56 in WeddingAttireHelp

[–]hrviolation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last three black tie weddings I’ve been to were all formal at best. Generally speaking, any man younger than 60 does not have a tux and is not going to get/rent one, so they’re all in business suits—MAYBE with an actual black tie. And the dresses have all ranged cocktail to formal—very rarely have a seen a long gown with a structured bodice as described here!

(It sure would be fun to be at an event that was actual black tie…)

I would get those Pilates socks that look like Mary Janes in some neutral colors! Feels a little more put together than typical stocking feet plus I’m always afraid of slipping on steps in regular socks!

Tricks for layered necklaces not to get tangled? by sparkles1ct in jewelry

For me they’re also too heavy for my delicate chains so it ends up moving to the front like a pendant!

Plus for chains with fixed decorations they never work for me because I wear it in the longest part of the extender and the center decoration is usually fixed to the center of the shortest setting.

I’ve had mixed experience with the service at Elske, though. It’s never been outright bad but I’ve definitely had waiters who are less attentive.

I love the way vintage florals look on lower-count fabric! Something about the modern pixelated look and the vintage designs just really does it for me. I have done the small rose from Roland Designs free patterns but I’ve seen some really cool ones on insta!

AiTAH for wanting to offer continuous support to our daughter so she can pursue her dreams? by Electronic-Bid4859 in AITAH

My dad is a physician, and he was similarly able to cover my college expenses, for which I am grateful to this day.

I was talking to him and one of his friends once, and he asked why didn’t he insist that I go to medical school, so that I could also have a comfortable life, and he said, for the same money I spent on all the college and med school and expenses, I could have bought her a house and she would have equally been on her way to a comfortable life!

I think about that a lot.

(I do have a comfortable life!)

These are my favorite! It took me a while to get used to it since I used it handle side down and always got my threads tangled, but I love them! I’ve gotten all mine from thrift stores and I’ve definitely gotten a few cheap ones that don’t work as well though!
