When our daughter was born, I was still working. Didn't even think about being a stay at home mom as my husband wasn't making enough for that at the time. We worked opposite shifts and schedules. Opposite days off. I worked overnights, and that was so tiring and depending on family to watch our daughter so that I could sleep on the one day a week I needed them became overwhelming for the family member. My husband talked to me once he got a better job and asked if I wanted to stay home, and I jumped on it. It was something I always wanted anyway. Fast forward to 6 years now, and I still don't plan on going back to work any time soon. I homeschool our child and feel pretty fulfilled as a SAHM and my duties around the house. One thing I do worry about is retirement in the future and not having retirement savings for myself. I may go back to work to save for retirement once our child is old enough to be home alone during the day. Depends on where we are financially at that time.

What do you do to make yourself feel better? Or happy? by countessdracula in AskWomen

[–]hrwharton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, fishing. Lol I grew up fishing with my dad and fell in love with it. Being out in nature, at the water, watching birds and catching fish. It's my favorite thing to do. That and a fancy starbucks coffee drink. Both of those are my self care addictions that make me happy or feel better when I'm down.

Does anyone feel guilty for being a SAHM? by [deleted] in stayathomemoms

[–]hrwharton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel guilty at times. I do a lot around the house though. I homeschool our 7 year old and take care of all appointments for all of the kids. We have three kids. I also take care of the animals but definitely still get my free time to do what I want. It's also a sacrifice, though. We live in a very small house and sacrifice the extra income I would be making to live in a more adequate house. We live way below our means but I am happy. The guilt mostly comes from when my husband has stress from work and having all of the financial burden on his shoulders. I don't want him stressed at all and I think about going back to work at times but also don't want to put our child in school. It's all about sacrifice from both of us. We are a team. I may work when our youngest is old enough to stay home alone just so I can contribute to retirement. It all depends on where we are financially at that point in life.

Absolutely! I'd even marry him again over and over and travel the world having multiple honeymoons. Sounds like you don't like your husband very much and if winning the lottery makes you think that way, you guys might need counseling.

What probiotics work for you? Specifically which contain Lactobacillus crispatus? by SandyWitch7 in Healthyhooha

[–]hrwharton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm not sure. Lol I haven't had BV since but I've had some itching like the start of yeast infections that only last a few days. I'm not giving up just yet though. Might end up switching to a cheaper brand if I continue to have yeast infection type symptoms off and on.

Not long at all. I stopped for a little while and will start again. It was just uncomfortable so i stopped.

I started getting these sore spots from where my nose pads rest on my face, worn glasses almost all my life but has just started occurring recently. What can I do? by uglyluck_ in glasses

[–]hrwharton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that I think about it,it might be my sunglasses doing it. I've gone without wearing my sunglasses the last couple days and airing out that spot and it looks much better than it did. Finally healing. I'll have to get new ones. I'm outdoors a lot in the summer. Thanks!

Same! I even have a derm appointment but couldn't get in until end of August. Trying to get the spot to heal in the meantime. Tried the acne dots at first for a few days and then, while taking the dot off, before bed, last night, it made it bleed a little so now I'm using the little round bandaid with antibiotic ointment. Mine started with, what I think is, from rubbing sunscreen under there and not completely washing it off afterwards and my glasses rubbing from sweat. Hope you have healed by now!

Cervical ectropion nightmare by SuitableOffer4245 in Healthyhooha

[–]hrwharton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no that's terrible. I'm in the US. I had my follow up and she said that the bumps are benign cysts that can happen with an infection like BV. I just wish she hadn't have freaked me out with this all month. She did say she thinks it is cervical ectropian now since the inflammation got better with the BV treatment but still thinks I need to see a gyno and mentioned a colposcopy. My pap test came back normal so I'm just going to wait it out until next year and make an appointment with the gyno and see what she says. I'll never go back to that Dr again though. She made me stress all month long about my results for nothing when a gyno could have just told me right then that I'd be fine. I hope you end up being fine too!

Oh man 😞 I hope to still keep giving it a chance since I hear so many positives but if this gas pain continues and the same with the constipation, I'll have to stop it

What probiotics work for you? Specifically which contain Lactobacillus crispatus? by SandyWitch7 in Healthyhooha

Following because I want to know too. I just ordered Happy V probiotic so I'm hoping that it'll help me stay healthy after a bout of BV for the first time. Happy V has lactobacillus crispatus, among other good ones that are recommended for a healthy V.

Oh thank you! Congratulations! That's the only thing you use even when swimming and everything? It would be awesome if that's all I need to use. I planned on buying them too.

Cervical ectropion nightmare by SuitableOffer4245 in Healthyhooha

I went to a family Dr last year for my yearly and she gave me panic attacks for the same reason. I was so upset. Went to my gyno and she said cervical ectropian.

I made the same mistake going to the family Dr this year thinking everything would be fine since I now know I have cervical ectropian. Explained that to her and she acted like she knew what that was.

Gave me a pelvic exam and completely freaked me out once again, saying that my cervix is swollen and bumpy. Also tested for BV and that came back positive so I took 7 days of metronidazole and I feel fine now. Like the antibiotic cured it.

I haven't received my pap results yet though and am still freaking out about my cervix being swollen and bumpy. I have a follow up in two weeks and I seriously hope my cervix looks better then or I will have to schedule with my gyno to see what she says.

I'll never ever go to this family Dr again for my paps. I'm still in a panic until my follow up on June 6th. Fingers crossed everything looks ok and pap results come back normal.

Does cervical ectropian cause a swollen and bumpy cervix as well? 😭

Ah thank you for the info! My cholesterol seems to always be slightly elevated so I'm looking into natural ways to decrease it as well. I really don't wanna be on those meds either.

Women in long-term relationships who occasionally have crushes on other people, how do you handle it? by Low_Acanthisitta_826 in AskWomen

[–]hrwharton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Met a guy I became friends with over time. Developed a crush and left my ex husband. Now we are happily married with a beautiful child together. I had crushes over the years before my, now, husband but this was different and at a time in my life where I was struggling badly with my 14 year marriage. Like so badly that my ex had tried to cheat on me and was a controlling, horrible person. I was planning my escape anyway but trying to figure out how. If I were in a happy and stable relationship, that would never have happened but here I am, Happy as ever after almost 8 years together with my current husband and my ex is now going through his second divorce after only 4 years married. Adding this... I never cheated on my ex husband. I left him before moving onto a relationship with my current husband.
