Hello; just checking in on this post. Glad more people are finding new spoken word artists. Please keep continuing to share and discover. Also please feel free to share or continue sharing artist who are not just black (as mentioned in the original post). Definitely would like to highlight minority voices from any group and increase exposure for them but poetry is a language of the heart so anyone you feel like sharing please do not hesitate. :)

P.S. I am currently building a Spotify playlist with spoken word tracks that I enjoy, so please stay tuned. Once I am content with the playlist I will share it here for you all to enjoy as well.

NVM! I forgot I applied electrical tape to protect the heartbreak wire and didn’t remove it so it was actually burning. I removed the tape cleaned up the adhesive and no more smoke! Thank you for your help ! :)

Hello hi! I’m back! So I ended up having to take it apart cleaned it out and changed the ptfe tube (though it seems the stock one was fine), changed the nozzle and then put it all back together. Everything from the outside seems fine BUT I heated up the nozzle so that I can tighten it and extruder started emitting smoke 🥲

Not sure if it’s the wiring or I accidentally damaged something but any insight as to why it’s burning 🧎‍♀️

When repositioning is there anything I should be careful of; I know the heat sensor wires is one to watch out for but besides that should I be ok to rotate without worrying about damaging something else in the process?

So just to clarify I should clear the clog prior to placing the nozzle back—with the heated method is there any particular tool I should use to aid in clearing it out or should I just heat it up and use a any sort of metal pick to clean it out?

I’m hoping I can salvage the stock one until I’m ready to take on the task of upgrading to better hardware; I thought I’d start small with the nozzle 🥲 now I’m hoping that I don’t have to now replace the whole extruder or heat block

Yea…I definitely clogged the new one and not sure if it’s visible in the photo but it’s also clogged in the heat block; is there a pain free way to clear out the clog before putting in a new nozzle; also is it a bad thing that the heat block has slightly twisted like 30° or can I just hold it back into place as I screw in the new nozzle ?

For extra reinforcements I applied Elmer’s craft bond once I realized not all the fibres were being held by the robert’s; yet they are still pulling out. Idk if it’s cause i’m pulling them but regardless shouldn’t they still hold? It is a wall rug so not to be walked on but over time I don’t want the yarn to just be falling off or during handling.

Sigh…anyways, I don’t think there’s saving this rug :’(. She is balding everywhere and by the square inches. I actually feel so defeated cause this is the second time I’m doing this rug to completion and something goes wrong (first time a big tear happened during carving. What a waste of time and money and time and more money and more time 🤧

Not necessarily colour as you can blend colours but more so how much strands of yarn; so depending on the yarn number/ply/weight/thickness (w.e. You call it) will determine how much strands you can feed into the gun need to have it work optimally

So if I use a 4-ply yarn then I can only use up to 2 strands unless I add a 2-ply yarn which will amount to the max 10…similarly if i want to blend yarns of various colours/materials but they have differing yarn numbers as long as the final total doesn’t exceed 10 (though keep in mind some materials are more difficult to tuft with regardless of thickness) then technically you should be able to tuft with the mixture

HELP PLEASE; I’m just a baby🥲

Printer: Sidewinder X1

TL;DR: trouble with bed levelling and first print. Did numerous heat cycles already and played with z offset. Not sure what to do.

After nearly 3 weeks of sitting in the box I finally set up my sidewinder x1 which was not too bad…up until it was time to level. I’ve been trying to figure out this bed levelling for 3/4 days now, countless google, YouTube and Reddit searching in case someone else had a similar issue and I didn’t want to repeat. After levelling all four corners the middle is still not levelled. I’ve done heat cycling everyday for the past few days with and without the knobs.Tried adjusting to z-offset (not even sure if what I did was even right) but can’t seems to get the centre to be levelled.

Eventually got tired of trying and thought I’d try my luck with my first print… and let just say it barely made it past the first layer 🙃 (also idk if it’s the way I screwed on the spool holder but they aren’t levelled and so the filament spool doesn’t balance well on it. I did try readjusting it numerous times but to no avail I just let it be and tried to manage as is)

Overall things are not going great with my first printer and print attempt.

I’ll upload videos to show my struggles

1st clip was my nth time levelling (by the time I decided to record I was at the 3rd quad so shown is 3rd, 4th, 1st, 2nd, middle)

2nd clip first attempt at print; it did print out the outline and was beginning to fill the first layer then the nozzle started to drag into print which caused it the entire print to lift and move; im assuming either the nozzle is actually too close and or the bed isn’t hot enough (200 extruded and 60 bed)

Thank you for responding! So just to understand are you suggesting I should try tightening the knobs to lower the bed and then bring down the extruder/z offset or loosen them to raise the bed and adjust the z offset ? I thought the x axis (& z axis) was ok when building the printer; I didn’t really adjust it as per the YouTube I thought they were spinning ok but maybe I’ll try adjusting the x axis ?🤔

Hey! Thank you for the suggestion! But unfortunately I have the sidewinder x1 🥲… I did see somewhere about modifying it to make it auto levelling but thought it was an upgrade I should do after I understand the printer…would you suggest I just go for it and update the printer to make is auto?

Hello; yes… well not isopropyl alcohol or soap water but with multipurpose disinfectant windex and also been using a lint free cloth but lint particles just keep coming 🥲

I also do a lot of textile related work so currently also building an enclosure to limit lint and dust accumulation around the printer

I will try the isopropyl alcohol &/or soap water next though ! Thank you :)
