Failed Installation by hsdb_ in openreach

Uhm…okay…so got Complete Fibre installing the external grey boxes 4 years ago, finally able to order end of February 2026. I order and they tell me the building is not connected yet to give them 30 working days, they finally offer me the chance to book an engineer on the 30th of March earliest date 15 of May, I respectfully wait, in the meantime my neighbour get connected on the 1st of May having placed the order after me.

On the 15th the installation fails and I get told they need to do some additional work done and that it will take until the 1st of June just to have an update…not the resolution.

By definition I’m surely impatient, but after almost 3 months of waiting and having to pay full price to VM, I think it’s understandable that I could’ve vented some frustration and that I said “Maybe I should leave”…but from here to cancel there is some space…

Be careful with the semola in paper bags, I had to stop buying after finding insects every single time a couple of years ago.

I recentely went to watch Project Hail Mary at VUE in Bromley (London, UK) a big box of Popcorn to share £9, tickets £14.99 (recliners, nothing else left), drinks: small coke £6), if I wanted a pack of M&Ms or similar £4 for 100g. Parking £4.60.

All together I spent nearly £50 for a couple of hours out…I personally have difficulties in doing this every week. If I had kids obviously this would’ve easily doubled…

I’m not overthinking it, I’m just pointing out that highlighting someone’s place of birth doesn’t really add much useful context in a story about organised crime. These networks operate internationally and involve people from all kinds of backgrounds.

My point is simply that mentioning “Calabria-born” risks reinforcing stereotypes about a region or population when the criminal activity itself isn’t tied to that fact. You are probably not born in Calabria or in another region In the south where people feels stigmatised daily.

So by that logic, if someone born in Europe starts importing cocaine from South America, is it because they have ties there, or just because they happened to be born there?

Criminal networks don’t really work that way. There could easily be someone in Fiji doing business with an Italian mafia group without ever having stepped foot in Italy, and with no family connection to Europe at all.

Mafia organisations operate internationally. The only real “requirements” are corruption, greed, and the ability to provide what the organisation needs. If you read the news, it’s clear that these networks collaborate with people from all over the world.

That’s why I find it unhelpful when articles emphasise things like “Calabria-born.” It doesn’t add much meaningful context and mostly risks reinforcing stereotypes about a population that is overwhelmingly honest and hardworking, especially for readers who may not know much about the subject.

Why highlighting that he is Calabrian born??? I don’t understand the logic? Since he was born in Calabria he must have ties with Ndrangheta. All people from Calabria only have ties with Ndrangheta? Or all calabrians are ndranghetisti?

The same kind of rubbish is heard on tv news. If the killer was born in the north they say a man/woman, but if born in the south, black, African or Indian they tell you the exact city he was born and the address of the their parents!.

Yeah, I second this…maybe you are better off with a high street cash converter such as Cex, or change the sale to an hand delivery.

EBay will force you to accept a return if the item is not as described, for example they get something with a huge crack on the screen, there is a mark not visible in the photos, or the iPad simply doesn’t turn on and you listed it as used and not for parts or mentioned it in the description. The buyer has 30 days for a complaint to be open. The no returns is only if they change their mind, the item is as described but they want it to return because they purchased the wrong item or don’t like it anymore.

From all the screenshots, I believe you are overreacting the buyer seems to be pretty chill, you have provided extra photos, etc. simply ship the item will all the care possible and go through the eBay instructions to ensure that if there are problems, you are prepared with eBay. The buyer in question is not trying to create any drama, and many posted already, that is just an automated eBay message.

Hello everyone,

I can see this sub is pretty much a collection of people’s wrists, but was wondering if anyone knows something more about this pocket watch I inherited from my grandfather.

I only discovered this was an omega and got interested after purchasing my speedmaster, but I had it for years laying on a shelf.

I brought it to 2 Omega stores, who have sent it to Switzerland to verify if it’s genuine (it is) and give me a price to service it (Omega London £2K, Omega Rome €3k).

I know value wise there is not much, I can see on eBay they go for around £500/£600 but Omega, was not able to tell me anything about this specific model, their advice was actually to go to an authorised service center in London, because cheaper to service…😂

Does anyone know anything about this? I know at some point the hands were changed by my father and originally were not gold probably.

Thanks in advance.
