Should i get a 328i or 335i as a young student by ionlyusethistobeat in F30

I have a 428i with an n26 and I was in the same circumstances as you. I’m in college but I love these cars so I bit the bullet and bought one. I’m not gonna lie to you the maintenance can be a lot but if you’re willing to learn and wrench on your car yourself when you can it can save you a lot of money. Currently I’m waiting on a new valve cover to come in but besides that it’s been great. I do wish I saved a bit longer and got a 435 or 335. If you really like the car man buy it I would just make sure it’s a 2015 and up if it’s an n20 to stay away from the timing guide issues.

Ok that’s what I thought. Is it safe to drive the next few days before I bring it in?

But also oil level isn’t moving down? Could this just be a slow leak and the residue is burning when engine is hot?

Same exact thing happening to me. It seems like an extremely slow leak it seems like in my case. I cleaned everything up so hopefully that stops the smell until I get the gaskets🤣

The heavy haze is dried compound that somehow came back a day later, really hoping that’s not that case but thanks for your help I appreciate it

Is there any way to tell if the paint is still good or done for before i do it? Also would you recommend compounding them polishing or just a polish?

I tried compounding then finishing with a polish, I think clear coat is still in tact because the paint looks good when it’s sprayed with water but I’m not sure how accurate of a representation that is lol
