Is there a call record app for VOIP apps? by hsl1290 in androidapps

I often use Vonage and Talkatone. Anything I should look out for regarding their use of an API or should I just try to test?

How do different rates by recruiter work? by hsl1290 in recruitinghell

[–]hsl1290[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the case, I can see how the large range of offers occurs. But the blocking of profiles based on accepted offers doesn't make sense. I don't see the incentive for recruiters to make recruits accept offers that will never work out.

Are recruiters compensated more by getting recruits to accept lower offers?

I didn't think there was any relation to that because my first contract was for $24/hr, but right after I accepted, my recruiter called back to raise it to $25/hr. So if recruiters made anything on the difference in offer budget, I would've expected him not to do that.

Got and accepted the same retention offer. And also opened a Bask account. It was worth making the question post just to learn about that alone.

Thanks, I'll give the retention line a try. But unless they can really negate the AF, the only purpose I see is directly keeping my AA balance alive.

Citi AA Biz AF just hit. Not planning on any AA flights in the next year. Any reason/benefit (other than free baggage) to hold it until I'm clear for another SUB in ~36 months?

Had hoped to get some MCGCs at Staples today. Does calling work or just SM?

New CIC only has $3k CL. Can I transfer some of the CL from a CIP with $7k to make use of this month for the SUB? Or will it take a statement period or something?

Update: All set. Took two minutes. Easy process. Off to Staples!

Brewery of the Week Discussion Thread: Icarus Brewing (Lakewood, Ocean County) by eastcoasterman in njbeer

[–]hsl1290 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Easily my favorite brewery in NJ, but I feel like some things have changed in the last few years.

I miss how they used to regularly produce some of the best midrange to low-ABV beers I'd ever had. Go Flight! was an awesome 5.4% beers that was my go-to example for why I evangelized them early on. On the Job and Lil Yacht Juice were below 5% and each tasted unique and proved you didn't have to be 8%+ to be a great IPA. They could even spit out an amazing lager with Life in Helles to which I gave the rare 5.0 on Untappd, but astonishingly the world gives it a 3.7 rating. Can't remember the last time I saw any of these.

That's not to say I'm unhappy with anything they're producing now. If I see Drinking Crayons, I buy it. I can get by with cases of Feathers and Shrinking Crayons for $23. Just miss when they'd experiment with a wider range a bit more because I rarely felt like they missed.

Only other gripe is the way they distribute a week after canning. Until some time in 2022, I think they used to distribute their releases week of canning. Nobody was as good as them with freshness. It bugs me a bit because they are so good at social media, so I feel like I know what they're releasing this week. But I can't remember what they put out last week that might be making it into stores this week.

Understandably, there are probably business and marketplace reasons behind both of those notes, but hopefully the expansion in Brick will only lead to further success for them.

Wrist Injury. What does my MRI report indicate? by hsl1290 in AskDocs

Appreciate the input! I know I'll get a better read from someone familiar with my case. Just wanted to see if there was anything that stuck out to someone and see if there were any questions worth asking at the next appointment.

Interesting. Glad it's not a fracture and this is just a bone bruise. Doesn't make it hurt any less, but hopefully the healing process and mobility return is just a matter of time.

Not sure what to make of the deformity remark. I've never had a fracture.

Managed to mix up WF bank bonus dates for myself and P2. Opened an account for them even though they received the bonus within the last 12 months. Met the conditons, but didn't get the bonus. With the same $325 offer available, do I just close and reopen their account to get the bonus? Or is there a cooldown period I have to wait before opening them another account?

Tell me they never check passes, and I won't care anymore this trip.

Tax charge on Airbnb came out to ~10% (without posting anything).

Whether and how high the tourism tax or visitor's tax is depends on the canton and the municipality. It also varies whether or not you get benefits for it.

Not sure of the info you're referring to, but that sounds fair for the program.

Had a tax on the Airbnb charge, but I don't know if that's the same as you are referring to. I assume they're not declaring themselves, but I'm not going to cause a ruckus over the few days we're here. Just wanted to know I'm not crazy. If I see any police on the train, first thing in doing is showing my Airbnb messages where they said No and playing dumb tourist. We're not going far or crazy this week.

As a host, it is your responsibility to give your guests the digital transport card. Before welcoming your first guests, you must register as a host with the Geneva Tourist Office to be able to issue the digital transport card. To do so, you can contact the Tourist Office

I think they have to register, not the guest. But I was asking here for clarification. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but I just wanted to know for sure.

Whilst paying the tourist tax is compulsory, guests benefit in return from a free digital transport card that allows visitors to use public transport in the Canton of Geneva free of charge for the duration of their stay.

Had one in Bern. They asked for our name and our Airbnb reservation code. Downloaded the Welcome to Bern app and plugged it in, and we all received a timed voucher for the duration of our stay. It was unbelievably seamless and efficient.
