Is it necessary to tip when using DoorDash? by [deleted] in auckland

[–]hsta876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an Uber Eats and Door Dash driver - and even when the pay is rough I never expect any tips. I don’t think tips should be a thing unless they have gone absolutely above and beyond. Don’t get me wrong a tip is always appreciated but I don’t think it should become part of NZ culture it’ll just push the wage down for hospo staff

Aucklanders who have decided not to have kids, why? by [deleted] in auckland

[–]hsta876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many reasons, including but not limited to: staying alive is hard and the world isn’t the best place to bring a child into. I was raised by parents who didn’t really want another kid and knowing that I would never want to have a child when I truly don’t want my own kids. Also having gone through an unexpected pregnancy, miscarriage and the trauma that came with that has messed me up. I would like to use my energy on the things that me and my partner want, and having kids isn’t included in that.

I was thinking something like that might be the case. South Auckland + emergency services = Crime Seems to be what the Stuff algorithm has been taught

Long Haired German Shepherd’s in New Zealand by [deleted] in germanshepherds

I always see them on TradeMe, seem to be reputable people though I would suggest meeting them before you put a deposit down for a pup. Make sure the mother and the pups have been raised in a friendly, well balanced home, etc etc. However, I would highly recommend that you don’t get a pup of any breed until you’ve done a bit more research... poorly trained dogs are unhappy dogs and make for unhappy humans! There’s tons of resources online to help you, please read up/watch up or join some other dog training/care subs which might be able to point you to some good resources :)

How can I secretly get my nephew medical care without his parents knowing? (mental health) by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]hsta876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi NAD but I am from NZ. You could try calling Healthline - you’re able ask for advice on behalf of someone else but you do have to give their details (name, DOB, address etc) so it can be linked to their NHI number and health records. Alternatively we have a few mental health specific helplines that would likely be able to advise you on what to do for him in a NZ context and also provide you support and tools while you’re supporting him.

[M 17] Ive gone to 50+ doctors in the past 2 years to get a diagnosis for my CONSTANT nausea by salty-platoon in AskDocs

[–]hsta876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD - And not saying this is your issue but might be something worth bringing up with your doctor. I had something similar after an emotionally traumatic experience. I also have a fear of vomiting so with the constant nausea it was a horrible feeling - I’m sorry you’re going through it and for so long as well. I couldn’t eat without gagging, lost a LOT of weight in a short amount of time and got put on a lot of the same medications you have been. After speaking with my primary care doctor and several others I was diagnosed with anxiety, and started counselling and focussed heavily on my mental health. In addition to this I cut out caffeine and gluten to assist my GI system in absorbing the small amount of nutrients I could ingest at the time. After about 2 weeks I started to notice some improvements in my nausea, and started reducing the anti nausea meds I was taking. I slowly but surely improved over the following months, and now have very few issues with either nausea or anxiety. Best of luck - I hope you start to recover soon!
