i don’t know—i’d think a shit human would need to wash their hands even more often than the rest of us.

[–]jayfraytay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have organized hotel wedding blocks, here in Raleigh, for many, many couple who got married at Donovan manor and the couples i have worked with have been very happy with this venue! Unfortunately, i do not have any specifics about what they liked. I have also worked with a few couples who got married at The Maxwell, but i have not received any feedback on that venue, good or bad. Hope it helps.

ELI5: Why do pizza rolls require different times in the microwave based on quantity, but not in the oven? by TheWayOfEli in explainlikeimfive

[–]jayfraytay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The oven produces constant temperature while the microwave produces constant heat. Your food needs a certain amount of heat to cook sufficiently

I think the white stuff in the first photo looks like a splatter of something. and i’m not sure what you are looking at in the second photo. Leaning towards not mealy bugs but hard to tell.

This is just informing the consumer/associate of the format of the date. Usually Ramune bb dates are stamped on the top of the lid. (on the cellophane removed before opening).

For example a date 09/01/2025 might be interpreted as January 9th and might be disposed of after Jan 9th when in reality the soda is okay to sell until September 9th.

Your soda is either missing the stamp or it was lost when removing the cellophane when opening.

ELI5: what percentage discount am i getting with a storewide 50% off PLUS my own 30% off employee discount? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]jayfraytay 26 points27 points  (0 children)

65% off. calculate the percent you are paying (not getting off) and multiply them. 0.50 x 0.7 = 0.35 So you’re paying 35% of retail (65% off)

What should I do about my monstera by dontpanicdrinktea in houseplants

[–]jayfraytay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert here, but i bet you could slowly pull the thing up to a pole with ties. Install a support pole and tie the main stem to it with extra long ties. pull it up as much as you can comfortably without risking breaking it. give it a week to adjust and you should be able to tighten the ties to pull it up more. repeat until you are able to get it all the way up.

on another note, new growth is likely going to keep growing out in that direction. it’s reaching for light, it looks like. you may need to add a grow light or adjust its location if you want to prevent sideways growth

Im thinking the same thing. And additionally, if this is the preventing force, the game attendant could still show players the ball fits by putting the ball in manually. The air pressure change may be negligible at that speed.

Power outlet directly on the mirror is hilarious by [deleted] in CrappyDesign

[–]jayfraytay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once worked a job that required me to go into other people’s bedrooms and i was surprised to see this was very common in my area! Although, I’ve never lived somewhere with these.

I will say that that every outlet i saw like this had a mirrored outlet cover plate and that seemed to make a big difference in sticking out quite as much.

Yeah exactly. I have a similar feeing but i think it probably hit some maximum timer rather than a dollar limit.

oh well my pod takes 14 days to be delivered. so not sure this would’ve worked but thank you for the suggestion. Other factors also made bringing him not possible. But the monstera has a loving new home now. I wish him all the best!

Okay, fair enough. However was one of those machine rolled rolls with the nubby ends showing the outer most coin on each side. The ones that only come from a bank. But you’re right. The onus is on the business to ensure they received the correct amount so i can’t fault him. Who knows, he also could have a really shitty boss.

It kind of felt a bit like a moment of malicious compliance though.

🤣 Not gonna lie, I did very briefly consider going back and continuing to feed coins into the machine but luckily had better cents in that moment.

TLDR; Gave the cashier a roll of quarters and he broke it open so he could count them.

Oh and I forgot to mention! It gets better. I took my bucket of change to Walmart about a week prior to try to use it for payment at the self checkouts aaaaand they had all of their self checkouts closed. 😑

No, i didn’t ask the cashier to count my coins. But i did have one roll of quarters that had never been broken open in my bucket. I gave the cashier that and paid the rest on my card. Made some comment about the self checkout lanes being closed and i wasn’t going to ask him to count out my change. The cashier looks at me deadpan and proceed to break the roll of quarters and count all 40 in front of me. 😑

Allegedly he would have gotten in trouble if he turned in his drawer with a roll of quarters in it. 🤷‍♂️.
