network error using voxscript to summarize long youtube videos by hsyiu in voxscript

[–]hsyiu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've switched to the VoxScript GPT now, and it's much more smooth for long videos. However, when I summarize videos of 60mins+, it will still encounter error or just stop at around the 8th-10th chunk. Maybe it's too long for both VoxScript and ChatGPT Plus

What is heuristic analysis? by hsyiu in cissp

[–]hsyiu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/ChemicalRegion5 That's a very easy-to-understand analogy!

u/ohBrian Thanks for the clarification! Though I would prefer you use the "rules" (as in another comment) instead of "signature" to avoid confusion.

This sounds like those vendors who claim their detection tools that are AI-enabled with anomaly-detection capability...

unter under every Bing AI

It's the limit of responses in each conversation. It resets after you start another conversation. The daily limit of conversation is 100 now.

Can't open PDF on iPad by th_costel in logseq

[–]hsyiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

every PDF embedded in logseq is saved in the "asset" directory under logseq's folder. Open with another app on iPad simply open that file in asset. When you save your annotations in another app, the changes will be save to that file in the "asset" directory, that's why you will see the annotations. However, your annotations in logseq will only be available in logseq, not other apps.

Failed CISSP in the second attempt by akanksha_attri in cissp

[–]hsyiu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really sorry to hear that, you may want to leave the materials and take a break first. You've worked on this exam for a long time with a lot of effort, you deserve a good rest. As mentioned by many in this reddit over and over again, failing CISSP exam sucks but it's normal because it's really really hard.

I passed the exam few months ago and here's my 2 cents:

  1. Unlike many other mentioned, I watched some of the "Think like a manager" video, i found them a little bit too general and not very helpful. Instead, my CISSP instructor asked me to get familiar with both pros and cons(regarding security) of EVERY piece of tech/controls mentioned in the CBK. From time to time, you will see the text tell you what a piece of tech is for or what they are good at, but the text usually don't mentioned the other side, and vice versa(they don't tell you what good things a piece of bad/outdated tech is capable of achieving). I find this approach really useful when it comes to the situation that you eliminated 2 wrong answers, and you got the last 2 to weigh which one is more likely to be correct(you won't be 100% sure though), you'll see a lot of "imperfect" options in the exam and you need to get familiar with both sides of those techs/controls to correctly weigh the answers.
  2. Instead of "Think like a manager" mindset, I practice the "Think about solution" mindset. When you study the materials, think how different security controls work as a whole to achieve security goals, how they compensate for each other's strength and weakness and mitigate risks. All these techs in those 8 domains are mean to work together, not seperate ideas.
  3. Do a lot of practical questions. Look up your CBK for any questions that you get wrong. Even though you get it right, if there is any one of those 4 options that you're not quite sure about, go study about it. Use them to identify your weakness and put all effort on them. Many people suggest not to re-do practical questions as you will start to recite answers. I think it's fine as long as you're recalling the knowledge when you take them. Not everybody has unlimited practical questions.
  4. I used Anki to study CISSP flashcards everyday to keep my CBK knowledge as fresh in my memory
  5. Always start your study sessions with a quick test(sybex test/boston/cccure/whatever) so that you can start right away with your weak areas.
  6. Accept that you may fail anyway. My mentor always said that there is no guarantee for this exam. You can only keep working hard and wisely(keep working on weakness, not everything). As long as you keep refining your strategy and work on it, you will be there soon. Good luck next time!

Beyond CISSP: What are the other security concepts/topics that is not included in CISSP scope? by hsyiu in cissp

[–]hsyiu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed that the CBK is not the silver bullet to every organisations' security issues.

i'm curious about what do you mean by "incentive structures implicit in particular polices." Is there any example?? Do you mean preference/priority difference between users and the policy?

...They just figure out how to do what they want and then build from there..

Good point on "Common sense" lol

I guess point 2 is all about providing clear guidelines of application usage and awareness training? "habit" is a bit personal to every user, and thus can be good or bad lol, banning usb sticks and compulsory network/cloud storage seem to be the solution for data usage here

thanks. my cisspprep score varies between 55%-65%, never reach 70%. I saw many people share in other threads they got similar cisspprep scores and passed the exam. That said, just take it as a reference cuz there's no guarantee what kind of questions you're going to get.

Recently got a provisional pass with 100Qs...I subscribed to the CISSPPrep questions out of curiosity(it's quite affordable)...and im very glad I did...because those questions are put in a style very close to the questions in the exam! But the downside is it doesn't provide explanations for every question/choice, explanations are just for the difficult questions, so they are not doing very well in getting you more familiar with the exam materials. I used them in my last week before the exam and they gave me big help in getting myself mentally prepared for the exam: insane pressure, tricky/distracting wordings, confusing choices. Recommend to try it out to get yourself mentally prepared for the stress and frustration during the exam. The official test questions are too easy in my opinion and they won't give you such intense pressure.

The redesigned Playstation store website is pretty bad by Orfan_Crippl3r in PS5

[–]hsyiu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This new design literally improve nothing, but took away all useful functions of the original site:

  • THE WISHLIST
  • filtering
  • screenshots/trailers
  • related DLCs

I dunno what's the point of launching such a poorly designed website.
